I just grabbed new hardware to to my stifflers driveshaft loop back in the car . When I did the tkx swap in my car I was talked into the bullet yoke and 1350 u joints
I've been thinking about needing a good drive shaft and a safety loop, was trying to wait till I upgraded my Trans and clutch, with a little 331 and upgraded V1 S-trim thinking I should go ahead and get it done. What Trans you recommend, been thinking TKX what's your thoughts Sir
Great video, i wanted to ask if you know if that safety lp would fit on a t56 magnum, stifflers crossmember, on3 turbo with a QTP electric cutout at the Y pipe? Of that QTP would be in the way?
Do you have part # for the trans polymount?
I still got to put that loop in I won fdoc, I got the recommended poly mount, I’ve got a 95 sn car. So you don’t run the plate that comes with the mount? Cause my trans is in the floor already, some one has cut the floor for clearance. The car was an auto that’s been swapped. I was thinking the loop is going to interfere, with the floor board even more. Cars been lowered also, which is causing the drive shaft to run on the parking brake cables and equalizer, I’ve jacked the rear up a little with weight jacker rear lower control arms. They’re maxed out, I need some factory rear springs. Just was wondering about ditching the plate though, heard it loads that mount up so it don’t tear out?
Got the same crossmember and loop in my 93 357w with a t56 magnum.
Thanks for adding in the note on the bearing retainer, after you answered my question yesterday
Driveshaft loop is required anytime you run slicks or drag radials. Man, I wish I had your garage!
Another thing that many people don’t know, is that if the driveshaft snaps under your car, it’s going to open your floor like a can opener and can come up and hit you. Driveshaft loop is such a easy and safe way to protect yourself
Good job Dan on getting your son out there.if they are willing to try to help that’s a win for sure.remember we all started with no experience and talking trash to the old guys
Tell Paul what’s up
Most tracks b/c of insurance purposes won't let you T-N-T without one….Good Simple Safe video Dan
For the serious racer, safety always first, and doing things the safe way. Always cool to getting your son
involved and lending a helping hand.
Definitely way easier than my old school bolt through the floor safety loop. Just wonder if that thing bounces a lot with it hanging so far off the trans – maybe not enough to matter but driveshaft contact should be obvious to see if it does.
BTW, if youve got a wheel hopper, parts WILL fail.
I’m running the Stifflers cross member and loop in my 95 Cobra with a Tremec 3550
Great advice!
