We push this junkyard production block to the limits! Both in SBE form and stroker! Will it survive 1000 crank HP or did it split? How TOUGH is the 351w really?

Great video on the fence between this and a coyote swap.
Was the stock crank a cast crank?
Great video Dan . You’re a very good teacher , so much passion in every single video. Thanks for the knowledge .
Zero balance definitely a good choice at that power level.
I really enjoy that video, I'm a 351w fan I had one mildly modified on a couple on early 80's . I'm actually planking on doing another one stroke to 418 or 427. The one you had in this video were EFI, what kind of intake did you guys prefered?
Awesome build, I'm building an 88 hatch and putting a big block ford in it
LIKE what your doing really like the extra reliable bottem end currently running a 351 boat motor with 69 w ported heads stock valves and a old a 312 flat lifter cam in a 81 Cougar 3700 lbs current time 8 22 in the 1/8 th with c6 tran 373 gears 2800 stall going to up grade the cam to push the combo hopefully into the 7s
Of course it will handle it. We ran these in the mid 5s @ 125mph 20 years ago. Fuel and tuning tech has only made it much safer and easier to do so on a SBE with E85
Gotta love the 351w! By the way, factory 2 bolt main caps? any ARP main studs or girdle?
Very cool video loaded with great information. Thanks Neo. I’m still gathering parts for my next 351. I have a 94 351 in my SVO!! I love it.
AWESOME STUFF MANG! Can you be sure to do detailed info on the turbo set up when you get that far on the 387 build?
351 Windsor is the only motor ill ever put my Mustang.I've had 13 foxes I currently own 4 now. Fox Body for Life
What turbo are you using on that setup?
Do you run a crank girdle and is it block filled?
Love the video I got 351w no bore great cylinder heads ect….
The only reason the 351w aren't getting the love the LS gets is that they didn't come with a good enough aluminum head and intake on them from the factory(and most weren't roller cam) it's much cheaper to put together a stroker 351w right now, good aftermarket heads are out there for cheap. The cams aren't as cheap, performance intake manifolds are costly and the tuning solutions are only coming up to the same level of technology. I have a few LSs and a roller 351w. I like both, I would take a 351w over an old school 4" bore SBC any day. I am stoked to build a 351w stroker to put in front of the ZF-5 S47 in my '97 Reg cab 2wd F250HD. I might start out with a single plane and carb, it seems like it takes a Holley Hi-Ram to hang with a single plane intake, I am considering the Holley Sniper EFI system that uses the throttle body with 8 120lb injectors that supports 1300hp with boost on a 4150 intake and has the full tunability of a Terminator. Probably going with TFS 11R heads, at least a 408. Should be more than I could every use even if I have a long travel suspension with 39" tires.
Hey Dan, Do you run a girdle on the mains? I just dropped my block off at the machine shop and already making decisions for a 408 build.
351 is my favorite Ford. Stock form it's already more cubes than a 347. Stronger blocks than the 8.2s. Can stroke it, or de-stroke it. Taller deck has inherently longer intake runners than 8.2 deck blocks, so always makes more TQ, all else being equal, regardless of stroke. Weighs less than BBF engines … And can fit between the towers on smaller bodied Fords … while still producing enough TQ to motivate a work truck. Plus can share the aftermarket support of the 8.2 blocks. I don't hate other Ford engines…I just love THE Windsor!
I’m going to really test my stock block. Aiming 1000-1100 wheel
I seen a LT351 windsor with ls heads sbe on utube handle 1000 but he blew it and it was like a bomb, it could of been avoided cause it started breaking up and they still stayed in it
Love the Windsor. I have found stock pistons aren't impressed with 7200rpms. I have many of oil pan photos that are filled with pistons debris.
Love seeing your enthusiasm on these 351W engines. You really have me wanting to go find an old 351w, put it on a stand and build it. I have a vision of making a solid 302 and SC it, but I'm kinda intrigued with the 351
Is a great choice but then there are all the swap parts if you are having a fully equipped mustang. I wonder if you add up swap parts cost, it probably comes close to the difference of an aftermarket 8.2 deck block that doesn’t require swap parts. Of course if you just want NA big cubes swap to stroked 351w is perfect.
Love it great video…I got a 351w roller on a stand that I hopefully would like to get to one day….what's a good set of heads for the stock block roller motor..
