Not boring at all. Very informative. I have used aluminum heads at home that I got with a car I bought right. Seeing this I will get them checked out first. Judt another step closer to a 351 build. Like Jonny cash said " one piece at a time" lol
Always something brotha.
Awesome video, way to go keeping it still budget! Still came out way on top compared to what new heads cost.
I have a 87 f150 would it be better to get a non roller or roller motor goal around 750hp
I got the same heads on my fox
Great video Dan , a lot knowledge in this kind of videos ,thanks
Love learning about this stuff, knowledge is always a good tool. With the money you'll have in to those heads you're still laughing, you'll have a great set of heads at the fraction of the price of a new set, that's a win for sure!
Why did you go away from the windsor sr. Heads? Was really looking forward to some dyno numbers with those
No doubt on the value of a new set of heads. I did that with the twisted wedge on my ‘93 and a set of AFR’s on the project 91. Actually got the TW head and a custom cam together from FTI that way he setup the valvetrain to handle the cam. AFR’s will be paired with an F cam so easy peasy.
have you looked at the promaxx heads?
Very educational.
I love this kind of content so keep it coming
Even if it is bad news, it's good education listening to a machinist do his thing. Guess I'm lucky, got a good one where I'm at with top notch equipment.
You killin it bro! Keep up the good work. You’re still going to be in it less than a new set and these will flow great numbers. Thanks for all you do for the foxbody community brother
Hey brother. Just curious how much this stroker build is setting you back. Ball park.
If you have to put guides and valves in it, why not swap to the thinner 8mm stem LS valves like AFR uses?
What ring gap do you run your turbo set up
Very good video and information, this little details make difference to get thats are we looking for, thats is that whe have to do first, check check, good job
This was far from boring Bro! Can’t wait to see the finished product and see what this engine is going in to….
This is where going budget gets off in the weeds. If those heads flow thr 310 you're told, I'm sure you're under springing and under lifting those valves to take advantage. The pistons won't take it tho. I'm big on best valves you can afford and matching the cam and springs to optimize the head. It'll still make great power anyway
Are those OG pedestal mount TF?. I have the stud mount slightly less OG versions. They are built like and absolute brick shithouse and passed every test, despite being used when I got 'em. The ped mount heads are particularly known for excessive guide wear, iirc.
And he is building your shit lol we all have that brain farther I totally get it but yeah getting a deal on used is like buying a plain ticket for Vegas and expecting to come home a millionaire there is none to be had I hate buying used and in today's market it's hell
Good stuff! I just bought a bare set of new heads so I can build them with the parts I want
