  1. You just said that to instigate more comments. I am honda rider. Had and rode many of them, not own one like this and maybe I need, another 20 years of wear on my ID to even consider. But I can tel you now it is arguably the fastest sofa in the world.

  2. Pls complete the title…"for me".
And I mean you with this and some thousand other Goldwing lovers.
I liked the original Goldwing when I saw it the first time on an exhibition in the late 70s (I was like 15 or so).
That was a big bike as I like them.
Now it is basically a car on two wheels. Not my style but I am happy for you that you found your perfect bike.

  3. A V-6 duel over head cam, 24 valves, fuel injection. Liquid cool
Drive shaft ,sport suspension, 300mm rotors and one at the rear.
Radial tires, just Incase you get a nail in the tire you can still keep going.adjustabke suspension, adjustable front lights.
Front and back radio speakers with an adaptation for 6CD changed, CB channel 1,2,3, and ABS with all these options for a touring bike in the cruiser category, you know it tops off all other cruisers for long distance. Considering it can go 300,000 miles (With Maintenance! ) and some comments to even reach 400,000.
Now it isn't a sport bike,(totally different type of bike, not a rocket neither, but if both bikes were to go for a long distant ride no doubt the guy in the sport bike will want to ride the Goldwing and his girlfriend would like it too.

  4. MOST will never give this machine a chance because of the cool factor with HD. If most ever rode this bike for 25-50 miles, and compare the ride it would be a done deal for ALL others. FATALITY FINISH EM.

  5. Agreed. I LOVE my 2018 DCT Tour AB. It’s fast, easy to ride, more maneuverable than any touring bike and sooooo comfortable. I have had 30 bikes in my life. All kinds and types. ZX-14 to the Goldwing. Loved all of them but there is no upgrade from the GW. —-RIDE SAFE MY FRIENDS.

  6. Monster bike. I call it the motorcycle of love. Most are riding 2 up. Bought my first Wing so my wife could ride with me. Still ride an '87 G Lol 1200. I have some smaller bikes for around town.

  7. I had a 2002 Honda GL 1800 goldwing.. smoothest engine I ever experienced. The riding position was a bit cramped for me at 5:11… The brakes were great , handling was re-markedly good for such a heavy motorcycle..
there was only one circuit opened in the fuse panel to attach one accessory outlet. I wanted to hook up an outlet for my electric vest, my wife’s electric vest, my phone, charger, my camera, charger, and a terminal to plug in my tire repair electric pump when needed. I wanted to attach Fused four circuit sub panel.. I had the cover off of the engine. It looks like a gas tank, I also had the side cover off at the fuse, panel/battery access panel. I could not find any space under that plastic to install a small fused subpanel the size of a pack of cigarettes. Who’s genius Honda engineers filled every cubic inch of space under that plastic..
To change the air cleaner in a Honda shop you will be charged six hours labor at $125 an hour as of 2020. I was a Honda motorcycle dealer mechanic at three different shops when I was in my 20s before I got a real job. I thought that was ridiculous so I did the job myself which I had always planned to do. After doing the job, I agree that six hours labor is a fair price. to change the air cleaner on my 2002 Honda, GL 1800, it was equivalent to cutting a hole in the roof of your three-story house and lowering a crane through the roof and cutting the holes in the floors of the second floor and the first floor to change your hot water tank in the basement.. unbelievably complex. you have to start by removing the plastic bezel around the instrument panel, take the grills off of the speakers below the windshield, remove the plastic panels in front of the right and left shins, remove that cover it looks like a gas tank, remove the seat, then you can get access to the brackets with all of the cruise control and different electrical systems that are anchored to the brackets, covering the air intake system, and the air cleaner itself. what makes it more frustrating is, all of the screws, holding those panels in front of your shins in place, they’re different lengths, some of them are all thread, some of them are partially threaded, you can’t mix them up and there are about 20 of them.. then they have those little plastic pop in rivets. Drop one of them, and it goes straight to China. paying dealer $630 or so labor just to change the air filter is a fair price..
I needed to upgrade the fork springs and the rear shock spring to match the fork spring rates on my machine. To get access to the rear shock to remove it to change the spring, I had to remove everything that I had to remove to get access to the air cleaner, then I had to remove the fuel tank which sits beneath the frame tubes on top of the frame beneath the seat, I had to remove the voltage regulator, the battery, the battery tray, The fuse panel, just to get access to the top bolt on the shock.. then I could go through the process of compressing the spring on the shock to get the spring keepers out to install the upgrade spring, which was a good move. It brought that suspension back to life…
A very common aggravating issue with this model of Goldwing is the four-way flasher unit. I made the mistake of pulling over to take a leak about four hours from home in the dark one night. I put my four-way flashers on, when I was done, I could not get the four-way flashers to turn off. I rode home, four hours with the four-way flashers flashing… I did some online research and it turns out that is a very common issue. I went on eBay, used four-way flasher units were selling for hundreds of dollars. I think that unit new cost over $500 just for the unit which is installed in front of the left knee in the fairing panel…
I always had a drivers backrest on my big touring bikes. I’ve had three ventures, a BMW, K 1200 LT, and then I had this Goldwing that I bought a backrest for. The factory Honda optional one. For some reason, that back rest, but forward like I was being punched in the back over a little bumps. I could not use it. I ended up taking it off ..
from the experience I had changing the fork springs, fork seals and bushings and for coil, the air cleaner, the rear shock spring, trying to install a subpanel to power accessories, I started to realize that, I would not be a happy camper if I had to do a roadside repair on this machine, because it is so difficult to work on. I mean six hours to change the air cleaner? You can’t even see the starter, the alternator, the water pump, I have no idea where the clutch is, or the slave cylinder just to change the brake fluid or pop a seal in if the seal work to fail while on a trip, which happened to me on my Venture once. I was back on the road about an hour later, because I carried a spare seal, and my buddy road to a parts store to get a small bottle of brake fluid..
Just the thought of having to work on this Goldwing, hundreds of miles from home, no matter how perfect the motorcycle operated and how smooth the ride, I could not relax thinking about what if. I ended up selling the gold wing and going back to a Yamaha, Royal star venture.. you don’t have to remove any plastic on the Venture to get at the starter, the alternator, the slave cylinder, the water pump, the clutch, the battery, the fuse panel.. in fact, I have videos on YouTube pointing this out. I agree that the Goldwing is perfect, but it’s Achilles’ heel is how difficult it is just to work on doing simple things one other motorcycles.
but I had to try it. I had to see what it was like to own a Goldwing.. it was perfect, nothing ever failed on it, except for the four-way flashers. When I bought it from the original owner, it only had 15,000 miles on it, but because of the cost of changing the air cleaner at the dealer, the owner never had the air cleaner changed, and when I opened it up, it was full of mice bedding. I actually have a video of that on YouTube Under my other screen name. The title of the video is three words, Goldwing made mouseproof… that’s my yellow 2002 Goldwing in the video..
perfect, reliable, smooth spike in the world, a nightmare to work on. But I had to find out for myself…
