So you know that we have an Oldsmobile engine for my Cutlass, but it doesn’t have an oiling system!! We start to solve that in this episode and fill you in on how we are going to engineer the oiling system.

I meant to mention this when you started this series I don’t know how your dad would feel about doing it, but a sit down with you and your dad discussing from the time You two went and picked this thing up through your high school years when you started racing and beyond…because I know your dad‘s a bit of a gearhead,I think it would be interesting to sit down and start from the beginning and show us everything that’s happened.
Where is the water pump???
a pickup that big wont cavatate with the size of the opening? meaning it wont suck air
Should do a fabrication Fridays. Video working on the cutlass and other projects.
How much vacuum do you need? why not run an electric vacuum pump?
Great stuff Kevin, just a thought – where does the oil return fitting connect to the engine?
Very cool, thanks for bringing us along on this build.
I can't wait to see how far you go on a build you're doing for yourself and if it's anything at all like Mullet it's going to be awesome…
Some diesel alternators have a vacuum pump on the back of them one less accessory to drive
Kevin… you have made me want to learn how to weld… 53 y/o maybe to old to start……Nah
I'm still learning on race cars, would a dry sump be better than the mechanial pump?
Can't wait to see it running. I've got my s10 and it came with a new lunati cam and lifters I'll have to call you to see when you can fit me in
Where is your oil pump going to pump in to the engine? Oops never mind I just thought it through. Probably at the filter through an adapter. Rite
Maybe I m wrong. 4.125 bore and 3.50 stroke is 474 or 475
Watched this three times now. That car is going to be so badazz.
Once you set the pressure on that oil pump, does it just stay at the set pressure no matter the rpm?
Thank you for this! Truly enjoying! Great work as always!
Love seeing you work on your own stuff, Kevin! Way more interest involved with the extra levels of imagination and fab involved. Keep 'em coming, King.
Yes!!!
Step one of 23,463, approximately.
That is a LOT of oil volume! Very cool.
Does the Cutlass have a name? Eventually I think you should paint or wrap it back in it's original brown color. Super sleeper turbo Olds.
Why vacuum pump with the dry sump when dry sumps inherently produce vacuum?
Running an Olds definitely takes some dedication and its sure not a cookie cutter engine…
That's awsome brother. If you had more time you would have more to do. We don't know how to make time for ourselves. I'm glad to see you doing good after your surgery.
