  1. I literally went thru the exact same thing you did except on the green passenger side connector. Tan/light green wire from relay was loose in the pin from previous owner half assing it with a garbage soldering job. Took me a week to figure it out after studying diagrams I thought it was a burnt fusible link too. Lmao I felt your pain on the "we're just throwing parts at this shit" clip playing over and over.

  2. Wow thats a scary one.. Good thing you shared that info.. Theres guys that would sell their car over that kind of problem.. Info like this is priceless.. Thanks for the heads up. Spring time is here my cars been sitting all winter in the garage i cant wait to take her out.

  3. I got stuck in a parking lot once…zero power. Luckily it was just the solenoid the starter connects to. Put in a new solenoid and it it started back up. Tow companies wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars, solenoid was cheap.

  4. So many people post the problem in forums and some diagnostic work but never the solution it's frustrating waiting time searching online. Thanks for posting as I am hunting elusive electrical issues with my fox

  5. I’m also having an issue with my car running fine then the FUEL pump relay starts sputtering you can hear it click like 50 times then car dies then won’t start. So I replaced the Fuel pump relay connector because it was melted and replaced the relay with a brand new one. Car still doing the same thing not sure what to do next. I was thinking of swapping the Ignition module I bought a new Motorcraft module and Spout connector hope that fixes it but I’ll definitely check that wire and fusible link like you did. My car is an 83 Capri with engine harness, Computer and drivetrain from an 89GT 5 speed. I’m so ready to go terminator X!

  6. Had this exact issue with the driver side kick panel connector green/orange wire coming from the computer in my 93, the wire somehow worked itself half way out the connect and started to melt the connector body, pushed it back it and it actually clicked, pulled the connector apart put some dielectric grease on it and havent had a problem with it since. Took me over a month to figure it out, it was intermittent problem that slowly got worse so it didnt totally immobilize the car.

  7. I’ve had those fusible links fail and also once had a trace on A9L board open circuit on me so had to repair with solder. Electrical gremlins suck and EVTM’s are priceless in solving. Glad you got it figured out!

  8. Good video sharing the knowledge.
Back in the 80s some car companies used a wire called oxygen free wire and it would literally break down inside the insulation.
The grand national is notorious for this.
I've personally seen this on 6 different cars .

  9. One hell of a fix, glad you finally found it, heck of a wire nightmare, you hit all of the major problems i would
have looked at and many more I didn't know about, been there at just throwing parts at this shit, trying to find
those damn no go electrical gremlins. That sucks bud, but you found it and fixed it go your shit off the jack
    stands.

  10. That's nothing my 87 had the same problem
The actual problem was the fuse box was a lil dirty with dust and fuses where not making good contact and was killing the pump ,lol I feel u I went crazy on it and finally fix it .

  11. I had the same exact problem. I also had no power getting to the starter when I would turn the key. I ended up bypassing the yellow wire that you pointed at right around @11:31 under the steering wheel that goes to the ignition Switch harness. I ran that directly to the positive terminal on the battery with an inline 40 amp fuse. Turned the key to on position and fuel pump primed , and engine started right up.

  12. Had that same thing happen on my sn95 replaced fuel pump all fuses switch in trunk ignition switch Everything and still nothing I said fuck it just by pass it hooked a fuse up to my battery with fuel pump wire problem solved who has time to go through all that wire to find the problem I spent lot money and time old car problems Sommer or later every old mustang has this problem very common problem Will stress u out eliminating all that stuff like u did I feel your pain and frustration

  13. And ? Estimated. Cost in junk yard 351 w stroke to 408 or even better 427 my goal close as I can to 600 all motor and adding a 6.71 blower on it what’s the estimated power and cost – blower with forged piston rods and good came and good heads etc. eney help is much appreciated My goal 700+ hp I no coyote swap cost me 15k 20k to do it like I want and getting it fit in car have switch have switch whole front end with aftermarket and so on so it adds up fast I was looking trying add stuff up just trying figure out what best way to go or I’ll end up about same if I go old school

  14. I do most of the electrical jobs at work, when ever I get a wire that has no continuity between two connectors, I always try to find it. Like you said it’s probably corrosion that has caused the wire to fail, but it may have a wire next to it corroded as well, future problem. If you pull on the wire and get it to break then you can lay it back over the harness and track where it goes. That way you can check the bundle for any other damaged wires. Like I said, a lot of times I’ll find more than one that’s damaged. Just a little tip for next time.
