Dodge is bringing a NEW Charger to SEMA but is 2023 doomed?

Dodge pulled the 7th Final Edition car from SEMA but is bringing a new modified Charger Daytona SRT

Dodge recently made waves that they are having production issues and pulled the 7th Final Edition car from the SEMA show. But while that car is gone, Tim Kuniskis confirms Dodge will bring a new 2024 Dodge Charger SRT Banshee modified by Direct Connection. While we are sad the 2023 7th Final Edition Challenger and Charger, is there bigger issues going on? Are any of the other final editions even built? Why haven’t we seen any promotion of the Shakedown, SuperBee, Swinger, King Daytona, or Black Ghost final editions? Is Dodge’s issues tied to Ford’s emblem shortage they recently had? Did Dodge pull the 900hp Challenger and Charger because of California that blocked the Stage Kits? And will allocations disappear quick while you are waiting for the 7th car? Let’s find out…

0:00 Dodge sinking

  1. I put this on racer X video …..First, the reason, Dodge is not releasing the car at SEMA is this: Their marketing DEPT has seen the negative: treads, twits, email, and comments on Youtube and told the Dodge folks that this hype on the sticker special cars is not going over to well…..BIG hype over just stickers is killing the enthusiasm for 2023. the other big complaint is the cars do NOT even have a 1 to 300 or 1 to 500 plaque on the dash, another thing is the car has zero identification on the 807 jailbreaks engine vs the 797 redeye engine. ZERO! This is a joke….how hard would it have been to serial number the special cars? Not one change in several years and this is what you get for the last hurrah? give me a break! Dodge WAS going to just put a new program box on the car for SEMA…you know the one they have been talking about for the last year that has never been released…..But now, they were worried about the massive backlash over a hyped-up sticker car with only the same program box that they have been promising for months. So Dodge is scrambling to come up with an idea that does not cost them over $350 dollars for vinyl stickers and $500 for some other cheap gimmick to add to the exterior of the car. Trust me NOTHING but a program box will be put on the car for horsepower …NO beefing up the engine or the drivetrain. NO cool suspension parts to make it go faster on the drag strip or better around a corner. Dodge has done nothing but hype, with nothing special about any of these cars This is coming from a guy who owns a 2022 Charger Jailbreak I do not know who is really pulling the strings over at Dodge, but this is a joke IMHO

  2. Absolutely agree…the scam maker was definitely a publicity stunt…..there was way too many people that were better…..if dodge can beat the mpg war then all the extra credits can go to build gas power muscle cars…that's why their pushing the glh so much to bring them closer to the 50% electric range for the next 10 years…..its all a epa grey area walk around.

  3. I'm good with my 17 challenger 5.7 I dipp vehicles it can be what ever colors I want. Vinyls are easy. I'm about to start building my 5.7 to either hang with or beat 392s. Better dodge..dodge with ther over priced same ol looking car for the past 12yrs. Nothing new comming out if they even get em out going to be any much or even faster than what they have now. It's all esthetics now. Not worth going in debt for let ther ship sink it will anyway going EV

  4. Dodge is a joke and has been for the last 10 years….. all they do is add hp that can’t be put down. They arnt the fastest in a straight line they can’t corner for shit…… oh but all the hoods love them for there side shows !!! Lol

  5. That's what happens when you rely on the Globalists and their Globalization BS.

    Let's Go Brandon!

Fake exhaust sounds on EV Charger Banshee??
What about Fake Modern day Hemi motors in the "so called" hemi vehicles for over the past decade or so recently in modern day??
Those aren't the Real Domed piston, hemisherical head, high compression fire breathing, lopey race cam sounds of the monster REAL Hemis of the 60's-71.
The fake ones today use the hemi name, but in reality are NOT TRUE HEMI MOTORS. It was all about branding…they used the name to push a totally different FAKE HEMI.

Real ones today can only be bought thru the aftermarket.

So don't want to hear about Fake exhaust, when all the new ones Don't Have Real Hemi motors in them & are FAKE compared to the originals! And SOOO, they Don't sound half as mean as the originals. Sound familiar??! No pun intended.

    Point made.

  6. With all due respect this is total and absolute bullshit from Dodge. Dodge has lost me as a loyal car buying customer I think that I will just hang on to my 2016 Charger HellCat.

  7. I own a 2018 Challenger R/T in Destroyer Grey with all the creature comforts I need. I'm glad I got mine before this shit show started to happen. I'll be happily holding on to mine, at least until the foreseeable future.

  8. The top brass at Stellantis probably told lil' timmy to show off an electric car instead of a limited edition redeye so that people will view the electric car as the halo car.

  9. I currently have our backup plan on order, a 22 charger widebody scat pack in GoMango, just 8n case I can't order a Sublime 23 charger. The email I received from dodge when it went gateline or "in the que for production", hinted at possible delays due to supply chain issues… hmmmmm,, think they knew what was happening?

  10. It's been mentioned, even by Ford's CEO Jim Farley that Tesla is looking to expand their dealer footprint in the US which could include production. This is a complete guess, but this could be the perfect time for Stellantis to sell off Dodge converting some dealers to Fiat, Ram, Jeep and Chrysler with the new EVs with some dealerships agreeing to be paid for converting to Tesla sales and service. I'm not sure how the dealer breakdown would be for the 2611 Dodge dealerships, but I think with the inventory shortage apparently from chip shortage for the past 2+ years. I'm sure several dealerships would love becoming Tesla dealerships. I'm hoping my guess is wrong, but something is going terribly wrong with Stellantis and their Dodge divisions. Remember FCA purchased the Chrysler corporation for 3.65 billion dollars after their bankruptcy and government ball out. Then paid fines for emissions. FCA pleads guilty in emissions fraud case, to pay $300M total in settlement
Then Stellantis merger took over FCA. The big pieces of this pie regarding long-term profits is Ram and Jeep. The Hornet could be rebranded as a Jeep and the Pacifica could remain as a Chrysler with the new EV cars like the Charger EV prototype becoming a Chrysler EV, With Dodge currently offering only the soon to be discontinued Ice Charger, Challenger and Durango after 2023. They will only have the Hornet to offer. With Chrysler dropping the 300 will only have the Pacifica. Chrysler has the name recognition so maybe the Chrysler Hornet, Pacifica and a new 300 EV currently called Charger EV could change from the Dodge brand. You mentioned the polluted water issue. I believe Stellantis is paying a large fine for that issue. Remember Chrysler dropped Plymouth due to poor sales after removing their performance 340, 383, 440 Magnum and Hemi losing the Duster 340, Plymouth Road Runner, GTX, Barracuda Muscle Cars due to the gas shortage in the 70s. Maybe history is repeating itself.

  11. I'm going to the LA Auto Show in November. It will interesting to hear Dodge's party line when I'm there. I was lucky because I have Charger SPWB, Hemi Orange that is built and is enroute to the dealership. ETA is 28 Oct 22. It's not a Hellcat but it's still a muscle car.
