Some of you may have noticed that while I talk a lot about Harley – Davidson, there’s one other American motorcycle company that’s suspiciously absent from my channel. Why don’t I talk about INDIAN MOTORCYCLES?

  1. As you can see from my profile pic, I am an Indian rider. I bought a 2022 Springfield Dark Horse (not the grandaddy version you posted) last year after my Suzuki Boulevard M90 was totaled in an accident. I gave HD a few chances to get my business, but the dealership said my credit was poor (offering me 22% APR) and when riding the Harley equivalent (Road King Special) it just didn't ride as well and had less features for the same price. I got a 7% APR loan through one of their finance companies, so that sealed the deal for me. I am just one story, but judging by the comments I've read so far, your opinion seems to differ greatly from your viewers and subscribers.

YES, review some Indians! We all know you to be an objective guy, so I think the more Indians you ride, the sooner you will see what we are all talking about.

  2. 17:42 So, I´m from Germany, and I wanted an American cruiser. I´ve chosen the Indian Scout Rogue because it is technically more advanced, while still being super simplistic in terms of features – maybe I should call them antifeatures, because I don´ t want a TFT, I don´t want riding modes. I had that stuff on my Aprilias and with the switch to a cruiser I wanted the simplicity, but as opposed to some old Harley, I also wanted modern technology in terms of hardware. Additionally the Scout Rogue just looks great and I´m super happy with it.

  3. I prefer the Canadians to the traitors in the HDs boardroom. But please feel free to ride what you like. I ride a Suzuki GSXR, also, in the black sheep department.

  4. So… you got upset because a LENDER, didn't approve you for a motorcycle, and blamed it on Indian? (though I'm sure Indian has some pull, it's the lender that decides… work on your credit score, be a responsible adult, don't over leverage your credit lmao)

Also you discuss how indian isn't the same company… neither is Harley roflmao

Harley has gone thru several exec changes and restructures in the last 100yrs. They got rid of Buell; probably the best part about them. They have almost gone brankrupt MULTIPLE times. Etc.

The Springfield looks worse than a Harley fatboy? (Fatboy looks literally like a fat old man rolling down the road) the Softails look horrible as well, take off the branding and it looks like a Yamaha.

LMAO Indian leans into chrome? Kidding me? That's every Harley owner… people literally call Harley's "Old Dad Bikes"

*"You buy a Harley because it looks cool and feels good"… that's funny since Harley's again, look like old dad bikes, and they're a horrible ride, it's like mule-ing around a cow.

  5. This is the greatest load of shite I've heard. On your terms you also need to blank Triumph, Enfield, BSA, Ducati, Norton… It's obvious you hold a grudge, but it's a very immature grudge and the fact is that you didn't qualify for the offer they were running, as you said it was an insane offer… So being a risk, they didn't allow you to partake. Get over it, your bias is clear

  6. I believe you don't have to hate one brand just because you love another, you can just love the one you love more than the rest. I now own 2 Indians, the Sport Chief for 4 months, & the 2022 FTR for 2 years. They both accomplish what I want them to perfectly, so to me, they are both perfect. I had my heart set on the HD 48 for almost 10 years, I thought for sure it would be the bike for me, but just like your anecdote on the bad experience trying to buy the Scout, I had some pompous arrogant HD sales people that thought me getting the 48 as a starter was going to get me killed. I was 40 years old, I used to ride bulls & also rode plenty of dirt bikes growing up & wasn't going to ride it off the lot & hop right on a freeway or zoom up a canyon without any training or practice. So I went to the Indian dealer instead & was sold a cheaper, lighter, torquier, horsepowerier FTR and surprise, didn't die. Is this the HD 48's fault, NO, it's a great bike that I still get excited to see on the road. What it teaches us is that people can have a larger influence on us sometimes than the products they are selling. Having ridden dozens of different bikes of the past few years now has also taught me that there are almost no BAD bikes, it's roughly 75% personal preference what bike you'll enjoy being on top of.

  7. Spite, go try a Challenger and a Roadglide back to back. Don't care about heritage as much as the ride. The Challenger is a bagger with a sport bike engine and it feels like it when you twist the throttle. Plus it's got more room for us taller people.
It would be a good video too.
I could even set the bikes up for you if you wanted to come up to Colorado again. I just bought a Challenger and I'm a rider coach at Harley. Love them both, so no hate either way from me. Also, I was a naked sport bike guy until about a month ago for perspective.

  8. Blaming Indian for a lack of innovation is quite silly… now if you wanted to phrase it as blaming a lack of competition, that is a much different conversation.

  9. Indian is not a Motorcycle it's motocycle! I agree with your bias. I commend you on your powering through the conversation. Indian was the poor mans bike I don't know why you were broken up about not getting approved for one.
If most had there choice back in the day they would have got the Harley Davidson if they could of afforded it. Heck Indian did things a little different but I thought at one point someone saying way back when Indian was robbing some of the idea's Harley was coming up with.

On a off note what is spooky is you take someone like me that was born and raised around indian and you get someone raised around Harley Davidson and put them on mo pads I got into a moped wreck told the other kid whose parents had Harley's to be careful and he got into a moped wreck later. In some way I can't fake the idea that it might of followed suit.

  10. I have always been a 90's street bike fan and never owned any Harley or Indian style bike, but I had to pick up an FTR. That bike is totally my style. Fantastic bike. I met you for the first time during this shoot as well and you are such a chill guy. Stay classy.

  11. I was an Indian guy, but moved to my Moto Guzzi V100s. I like Indian but they aren't making anything that fits the way I like to ride. Still good bikes, just not for me right now.

  12. I am biased, but have my reasons. Around 80% of the Harley riders I have met (and I've met quite a few) were busy living that scummy lifestyle. The kinds of people that walk out on their families, betray friends, drink and smoke all day and night, constantly talk shit about all other MC brands, are petty criminals or at least glorify them, are pathological liars, and haven't worked in 8 years but still manage to manipulate the welfare system or a parent enough to be able to afford farkles and repairs. I know my experiences are unique, but I've met others who've had similar. I love motorcycles and have been riding 15+ years, but Harley's culture and image problem from my perspective is such a huge deterrent, I would die before spending money on one. The next bike in my stable will likely be a cruiser, so by all means, let's talk about Indian!

  13. An enjoyable rant by Spite, but one question not posed is why would someone not want to buy a HD who is in the market for a cruiser? The answer is all of the cultural and political baggage of the the brand. There's a reason why the average age of a HD purchaser goes up one year, every year. Even if there was a HD model that interested me, I would take an Indian or a metric cruiser over a HD just to avoid the stigma of that image. Harley will continue to grow and be successful…outside of North America. All of its growth will be selling a slice of Americana outside of its home territory and I suspect it will slowly shrink into a high end niche motorcycle manufacturer in the US over the next decade or two.

  14. 1) I love Indian, the new Cheif Sport with Brembo brakes it's gorgeous. I'm not going to change my Low Rider S for that though, even if I've got a 114, and they are 116 ci.
    2) SPITE stop with the Ride along format, I love you man, but stop it… low retention and low payout on those videos. The algo hates it, you need to do more "story blocks", and maybe different takes. I know it's a pain, but I want to see your Channel go above the 1mil mark.

  15. I feel like I'm listening to someone ramble on about a movie that they never watched. Why don't you stop your eye sweating because some finance manager hurt your feelings and go test ride a Challenger. Then tell us your fair and balanced story. Compare the road glide and challenger after riding both.

  16. Yikes. I will say that your delivery is pretty good. I can see how your gig would easily grab some followers. What I think you should steer away from is the heavy opinion with bits of incorrect or even more opinion as facts. Sit back, take a listen to this clip. Now, pretend you're an actual rider. Do you care to hear some newbie blast his opinion in your face with such conviction, knowing that he's speaking from some shit he read someplace- not experience? I realize that I sound like an asshole, and I don't mean to at all. I'm sure you're a good guy. But I want to bang my head against the wall after listening to all the cherping. More facts, less opinion, stay in your lane, good luck.

  17. I like Japanese bikes… that said, you sound like you're trying really hard to find something wrong with Indian motorcycles. HD cultists are a weird bunch. They will make any excuse to love their inferior motorcycles.

  18. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but it almost feels like you’re saying “I want the heritage appeal of a Harley but modernized a bit. But not an Indian (even tho that’s exactly what they seem to offer). Definitely not an Indian.”
Lol all joking aside, reviewing Indians would broaden your channel! Ride and talk about every bike you can, Indians too!

  19. Love spite and his videos, but this felt too much like a slightly bitter dude with an uninformed opinion than the high quality informational content I’ve come to take for granted.
The Springfield is super dated looking, true. But the Springfield dark horse? Stunning. Indian uses chrome yes, but they also have blacked out options on almost every bike they make.

  20. I had a 2019 FTR. Loved it, but it always wanted to be ridden to the limits or it wasn’t super enjoyable to ride. Traded for a dirtbike and now actually looking at getting a Victory. I wish Polaris would’ve just kept that brand alive, honestly.

  21. What’s funny is that Indian is really moving away from the classic look. If you look at the current lineup, only the Springfield and the base model roadmaster have the classic look. I work for a dealership and so many customers, usually the older crowd, miss the big valanced fenders and all the chrome. Indian is looking to the future and younger customer base, unlike Harley which wants to keep the aging crowd, instead of trying to entice new riders. As for aftermarket support, well blame the aftermarket companies themselves. They don’t want to pour the money to develop new parts for a new line up. It’s just plain laziness on their part. In Europe several companies make high quality aftermarket parts for Indian. In fact Europe has really embraced Indian motorcycle

  22. You must not have seen all the modern Indians if you think
They all look old school. I don’t like the old school look. I have a 2022 Indian Scout Rogue and I absolutely love it.

  23. For the first time I gotta disagree here Spite. Feels like you’re letting a small bad experience give you a strong negative opinion. I’m an owner of neither, but would either! Plus having both gives competition and Indian is making more exciting engines.
