We had a blast at Milan Dragway! I got some folks together for Sick Time Attack, our glorifed drag racing test and tune where everyone was experimenting with no prep setups ahead of Roadkill Nights this Saturday. The first part of the day had prep on the normal part of the track, then we went no prep at the end of the track. Sick Seconds 1.0 was turned way down and @Steve Morris Engines and I think we have something that will work on Woodward Avenue. See if we can do like those Street Outlaws guys do on a tricky surface!
@Riding With Alex Taylor had her Dodge Savoy there, which will be featured on Hot Rod Garage. It is a wheelie monster! They had a hard time with the clutch but we know they’ll get it worked out on the day.
Dave Schroeder has something like 1600hp on tap even without nitrous, so he had a tough job trying to get the Drag Week-winning Corvette down track.
Plus we speak to a few other cool folks from around the pits!
Don’t forget Sick Skids at Milan Dragway TONIGHT (August 12, 2022).

Not a fan of no prep…I'd rather see the cars perform at the top of their capabilities.
I can go anywhere to watch tires spinning.
great video as always.. also on a side note.. alex really needs more time on the wheel of her car.. seems like it is super buggy.. hope she stays safe till it is all worked out. well honestly i want everyone to be safe.. happy racing!!!!!!
Alex Taylor made my Friday even better!…bang shift!
Great to see Dave out with the old Vette.
So much fun , wish I wasn’t across the US
This is new territory for Alex, she's been running auto transmissions and it's awesome watching her rip gears, that car is bucking all over, once they figure out the shifter it's on.
Wow what a blast Thanks for sharing
if that tranny in that savoy isn't faceplated, she'll never powershift that deal under full power
Wish I could be there. Going to be an awesome time. Nicky Bobby and SRC come on with it. Motortrend for the win though.
My first look at Alex's car. Thanks for the coverage.
1:13 Tom's best Kimi Räikkönen style interview
Depends a lot on the trans Alex is running
try getting that bar lower, it dosent even touch the ground, and try some loose suspension, just don’t get too carried away with it, if u do loosen it up, make sure the bar is decently low
I understand that the Woodward event seems to be in it to win it. I tried to find times the event and got bupkis, I didn't try real hard. That's very polite.
Being an old motorcycle/bicycle guy, am sort of curious about how far back in the results a stock front line gas street bike would be on this sort of surface.
I suppose it is an ignorant question and feel free to throw my under the bus if you feel you have to .Please be creative. I might want to steal some of your material.
Y'all better watch out for that black falcon that little car will surprise you
Tom’s spins wheels at least to the 1/8 on low power….
Whats Alex Taylor driving?
Come to Sweden and atend Stockholm Open, the only true Street Race 😉
Where’s the 55
Very nice video!! My cars USED to be fast back in the late 80's/early 90's. Now all retired to spirited drivers on the street to enjoy between evens. All the cars these days are 1000+ HP easy!!! My old 350 Chevy and 3.8 Turbo Buick are to slow and to old.
Tom … You started another family of cars that go fast
I think, making a class that you run the front side of the track, and than, the back side.
Looks like it's time to build a Chevy ll with a Ford engine and spark up some chaos
The Billy. The Kid SRC Falcon should have made the cut! We all know this crap was fixed!
You know you're in rare air when Steve Morris gets shushed!
Looks like you getting ready for no prep. I seen somewhere else Billy was there (src).
Hope y'all got to hangout some….
Hellcat power!
Put Alex in a real drag race car with a stick, like a Super Modified or a Pro Stock, and she will show you how it's done. Get her in Pro Stock, or the new FX NHRA class. Love the 55 Plymouth though. Something different for sure.
Miss working at Milan dragway that have done a lot of work to the place
Last year she came with a tubbed Challenger to Road kill nights. This year she came with, basically, a Funny Car. She should change her name to Miss Smoky Yunick. 😀
Hey steve is it supposed to leave like a slug ? and I'm sorry but driving a stick car is a fluid motion it can't be something you have to think about . If you have to think about what to do with each body part and when to do it then guess what . YOUR an automatic drag car driver . PERIOD…..
You look amazing in a Mopar Alex
Great video.
@ Alex: looks very rocky-when i think on your first run straight as a rocket… but I am -yeah Dave will fix it!
What a difference the track surface makes.
I used to avoid Woodward Ave. during Dream Cruise! I like seeing the cars but when you live a few miles from Woodward and have to get places you avoid that road in well pretty much all of August!
Its a Dodge! Alex Plymouth!
Tom you dont build street cars! Icould put a blower on a fuckin geraf…..and his name is Garrett
