Like the man says it's not about having the fastest car,you wanna find the engines sweet spot,it's about having a tuned engine and having good sound. Hot rodding can really mean anything, but you dont have alot of money to make something run good and look cool. It's like the rabbit and the turtle story, people can get caried away just because they have a fast car.
Hate to even start a fun argument with the king UNC Tony, but there is NO comparison, night and day difference from OEM parts to cheaper aftermarket junk. YES, some OR all parts could be made in the same factories, but the quality of parts are completely different. You of all people would know that. Quick example, you buy an OEM Denso alternator compared to a REMY for a plain Jane Honda Civic, brushes, internals, etc are of such a lower quality with a REMY (and most aftermarket for that matter), hence, why these parts never last the use and mileage when the OEM original is toast.
That goes for everything from O2 sensors to brakes.
