Hey I believe if you hold up gear out it'll go faster ET cuz my car had a 351 ones in it when I go through the 8th if I stayed in 3rd gear it would run faster and if I change the so I think he needs to hold out his last gear longer through the traps and it'll go faster ET and speed
I had 373 gears with 26-in tire looks like you got a 28 so I think you can go through the traps in third gear and your car running faster time and speed try and see what happens

What are you guys running in the rear end? Stock axles and diff with gears or built 31 spline setup? Or C clip eliminator stuff?
