Nunber one change: get away from ethanol.. Alcohol is a pain in the butt. Number 2 change: go back to the simplicity and reliability of carburetors. Injectors can be problematic…

Sounds like that car is suffering from noisy wiring…When you put the battery in the trunk and you dont ground the battery to the frame and ground the engine to the frame also if the relays and starter solenoids arent diode suppressed flyback will take its toll on the sensors etc and it shows……You should do a vid of the fuel injectors power wire being power checked while cranking and running against what the battery shows…..Ill bet theres atleast a 4 volt difference and the low running temps reflect on that too………….

You sure the mech pump alone can handle the sustained volume for full throttle 1/4 because if it falls behind and the mixture goes lean and burns a hole in the head your buddy wont be happy
