New 2023 episode! Not everybody’s got big money to build big power. With that in mind, we push a stock Big Block Ford to the limit by adding a budget minded turbocharger. The result: BIG BOOSTED TORQUE on the cheap!

Excellent video, guys. That thing would be awesome in a big ole sleeper, or even a budget drag machine. I am excited to see how you hotrod this engine even further.
How about a Big Power Diesel build,,, 2500 +++ hp.
All gas burner stuff
I’ve wanted to do this for so long. 70s and 80s smog v8’s are just begging to be boosted at 8-9:1 compression.
Pat lost his gut
Man if you put some forged Pistons and a decent cam and springs and just did a little DIY port and polish job on the heads, this thing would really get down with it. It might handle 5500 or so RPM. I think it would be very easy to get significant additional flow on those heads. Then I'd install it in an old 69 Torino with about a 3:90 rear end gear or something like that.
Now that old 460 has the beans to push that 1970's Grand Marquis Brougham the old man had. That 4 door land sled was big luxury and with that baby in it would be a real ripper! That 460 has More HP and almost as much Torque as my 6.7 2017 Ram 3500 diesel.
Not trying to poke holes in your exhaust pressure but as I understand it, it is the expansion of the exhaust gases that spin the turbo, not the pressure from the flow of exhaust. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Great video on the 460, this engine is a solid foundation with more room for growth and beefier components than it's competition from it's day and does not get the credit it deserves.
6000k rpm
Aluminum rods good pistons big cam port heads by hand 22boost let's go
Time for a Turbo FE!
This is a much simpler option over a cam, heads and intake. Plus that Duralast water pump is money well spent.
these guys need more pens
3:30 Yeah, nothing like a 460 to deliver great emissions, LOL. what a great nod to these old engines to build it the way it should be.
Thanks for not breaking the engine just for show.
………. IT'S CALLED (FOOT POUNDS) NOT (POUND FEET)
They should do a 4.6 4 valve engine
If it where a big block chevy they would have put all the good stuff in it
Put a expensive boost controller to get a rising boost curve and give it MORE BOOST.
"The old fashion way",…..hmmmmmmm
lots of fun! Have you done a 460 like this with cheap nitrous setup?
So age old question now is torque or horsepower, I know the difference between the 2, but sheesh that's a lot of damn torque. Would this be good for a hauler?
Turboing my stock 460 soon!!!
The only real issue with the 460 is fuel economy. OMG they suck gas so bad.
Yet people will hate on big blocks all day.
Well done fellas. Would love to now see some very progressive, stepwise improvements carried out, such as heads, cams etc. Cheers,
Lachlan, Adelaide, Australia.
Lame. Show details on carb modifications rather than that goofy turbo working explanation
Why use way scape
I would love to see a turbo 445 single Fitech FE. They got 585hp on pump gas, that 7875 would push it to 750-800
Wouldn't that be fun to drive
12psi they said this in ww2 with the p51. Lots of boost low rpm they thought the merlin was pushed but no they got great fuel economy and engines lasted
It would interesting to see you guys mess with some Diesel engines
What about adding adjustable roller rockers? That might add another 15 hp? Just wondering
WHAT IS THE STOCK C.R.
With a forged rotating assembly, I bet that thing could hit over 500 hp and maybe over 800 lb/ft of torque with just a little more cam.
I'd like to see this engine with the turbo and high performance parts in the engine.
its actually making peak hp and tq around 3500 lol that would be hella truck motor for pulling
My crazy brain is telling me that the EFI manifold lets me have an extra set of injectors so I can put a nitrous plate right on top of the carb adapter. Letting me turn a dry kit with wet tuneability.
Kids, don’t waste your money….That tiny turbo on 460 cubic inches using hypereutectic pistons is going to melt down on the streets. A bone stock GM 4.8 with that same turbo would murder that big block boat anchor.
Ford and Mopar. I'm done with the over rated LS
It would have took waaaaaaaaaay more of a beating
EFI, E85, and a pair of GT45's would get that girl to 900+ easy….
How come when dyno pull is done you immediately take the engine to off
