The world's QUICKEST cars! — The Carmudgeon Show with Cammisa and Derek from ISSIMI Ep. 79

Put on a beret and grab a baguette because on this week’s episode of the Carmudgeon Show, Jason and Derek are talking about the French (in name and origin story at least) monster that is the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport. As well as the Lucid Air Sapphire and the Tesla Plaid. Why? Because all of them were featured in Jason’s most recent episode of “Cammisa’s Ultimate Drag Race Replay,” last week where Jason had the world-exclusive with the Sapphire and happened to set a production car 1/4 mile record with it. (See it here: And as you’d expect, both Jason and Derek have their thoughts on these three cars!

All this and more, brought to you by the Hagerty Podcast Network.

  1. Hyphen's explanation about the freedom that a motorcycle provides was excellent. I lived in Los Angeles for many years, so when I moved back east I there was no logical reason to stop splitting lanes (other than it's illegal. phht-who cares?). As you might imagine, east coast drivers get a lot more irate when they see a motorcycle "cheating". The fact of the matter is, a lane splitting motorcycle rider is in his own lane, even when not lane splitting. The acceleration/speed differential between most motorcycles and most cars is such that the motorcyclist can essentially maneuver wherever he (or she) wants, instantly. Oh, I love this podcast!

  2. found your podcast just this year and im really glad i did. you have a nice blend of deep automotive knowledge and humor. knew jason from the motor trend times and im glad hagerty hired him cause the content they produce is outstanding, including this podcast. but i didnt know derek before and he's a really cool guy and true petrolhead. you two have great chemistry. i started to look forward to mondays solely bc of your podcast! also im glad i found this podcast at the time you created a separate channel for it and upload regularly haha i appreciate the dedication. hope it'll continue this way. thank you for making great content, keep up the excellent work and happy hondadays!

  3. jason needs a (slightly) modified bike for a drag race episode, just a swingarm length increase would probably be enough to beat the electric cars, also i think something in the theme of "cheap speed episode", finding the fastest cars/bikes for a given amount of moneym and comparing them

  4. I love when you talk about French cars. I dream of old Peugeots…. Which is quicker, a Nevera or an Evija? Which is quicker, a Chiron or a Jesko? By the way, I’ve lived in San Francisco, and I gotta tell you that the worst drivers are in Boston.

  5. just so you know onlyfans was always just a patreon-like service…they just happened to blow up for nsfw stuff because their rules allowed it

  6. Why have you guys only got 12k subscribers? I think you need to say "like and subscribe" a lot more, just like Matt Watson from Carwow, maybe not quite as much as him though. Keep it going boys. Love from Budapest x

  7. I've owned a 7 series beemer, and I'd much rather a lucid with 300hp that goes 1000 miles per charge than a 1000hp lucid that goes 300 miles. That said it would be a Canoo for me now.

  8. Loved the bike talk. Those bikes are just crazy, and Hyphen's explanation was pretty darn good. Personally I like the 70-100hp range the most, enough to have fun with and still plenty for most situations without go-to-jail speeds.

  9. Having listened to all the praise the Lucid has been getting makes me a little bit excited about the future of cars finally, I always used to discard the future bcs everything is supposed to be electric but if the Lucid handles this great as Jason says, I cant wait till someone makes a pure as light as possible sports car bcs if the driving dynamics are good enough the engine is irrelevant. Thats a good episode idea too, exciting cars with boring engines.
