On November 4th 2022 @Uncle Tony’s Garage had @David Vizard and myself @Unity MotorSports Garage on for a Live Chat. in the 3 hour discussion Tony made mention of a Engine build he has dubbed Mission: Impossible where he wants to take a bone stock low compression 318 2 barrel and see if he can make 275-300hp.. After hearing this DV and I thought it was a great idea and decided to get in on the project! “we” believe we can get close to or over one hp per cube using all stock parts from the 2 barrel intake and exhaust manifolds… call us crazy but we intend on using our race engine methods in blueprinting and the sort to break the internet with this build! stay tuned…

I have four 318 engines at the ready for rebuilds after watching your 318 project build…. bring it on!
I’ve always thought this would be a awesome shootout. Take a 351 Ford a 350 Chevy and a 360 Mopar. Put them in a dyno shootout using nothing but stock parts.
I feel, if you take a 351w and build a clevor it would destroy the others.
I'm on board. With a performance regrind cam, lightened rotating assembly, worked heads, and aftermarket pistons I agree, 300++ horsepower should be made without much doubt.
I have lots of popcorn. I'm anxiously waiting!
Would like to see an in depth valve job with seat profile and widths using seat cutter and seat grinder. You can really improve airflow with a very good valve job and would like to see the steps involved. Thank you. Love the channels. Unity garage,UtG and David Vizard.
I am and always have been all about using what I can get a deal on. Swapmeets and ebay are my go to places. I do have a hard time finding spare time to build stuff.
The two of you will make a formidable little 318. I would have rather seen how you would have handled the fist of the 360s that came out with the 2 barrel carb. Those engines had so much potential but never had their day. As for the other guy he can’t even make a hotrodded 318 down the track constantly let alone more then an 8.70 1/8 time. I definitely respect what David and you have to say. David is a Legend
Awesome Collaboration! Lets give the Mopar some Love ….
I'm excited about this build it going to be very interesting!
Hopefully this collaboration will work out better than all the other ones involving UTG. Seems folks get tossed under the bus pretty regularly when they get involved with UTG.
Where you run that copper tube through the valley ( and peen for lifter clearance ) .
The 318 build sounds exciting! I have one request, either run a stock cam, or a common off the shelf cam-please no custom grinds. Thank you.
Engine build series crossover. I'll be following along and eventually building a 318 for my B100 van.
To Mr. Vizard and Mr. Wood, the Carter 2 barrel carb is a piece of junk.
I have had mopar engines since 1975.
The accelerator pump curcit is the worst in my opinion.
Good luck finding a jet assortment.
I would start, buy putting a Holley 2 barrel on the engine.
You may want to speak with Mr. Holdener of. Utube fame about his junkyard engine dyno tests.
This is going to be fun
How much does a std 318 (230hp) make, on a dyno in real life?
Andy, you and David have better things to do than entertain another Uncle Phoney re-ring special.
I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!
Best of luck gents!
