NPK changed the diversity of power adders which ok it's cool, but on the streets it was waaaaay more exciting, especially if the driver and car are well known for the power adders they're running and that's what made it more exciting especially when they make it a turbo vs nitrous race
As I remember the first half of Street Outlaws: They were all working on their own cars preparing/discussing the specific race location some teams were formed and equipment was added or subtracted accordingly. Then they Visited or Spied on one another shop to sum up each others preparations. The smack talk or flex was fun.

NOBODY knew the weight of any of those OG cars. Now the choices of combo is dependent on how he weight rules!
Chief ran nitrous originally. Then went turbo after the rebuild of the roll cage for safety reasons.
