Pitting the fastest imports against the fastest domestic V8s in a no-holds-barred, head-to-head drag racing battle is only part of the attraction. There is something uniquely special about the annual Haltech World Cup Finals, something that undeniably sets it apart from any other drag racing event.
If you’ve never attended the event – this is a small example of what you’ve been missing out on!

FIRST! Anyone else start to tear up hearing Nick's story?
I come here for power and speed. Instead I get tear and sadness
I've done 160 into an immovable object. I've smashed myself to bits and back. I actually have bleed out. I have died four, maybe five times.
I got to hospital whilst being paralysed from waist down by dragging myself for four hours until daylight when people could see… I've been… Well.. Dude. I'm so Fucking lucky to be alive and pissing and pooing by myself without help. I'm unlucky tho.
I try. But no one has ever given me a thing.
I get 400 a week in NZ invalids cheque from government… 280 lease on a large shed that leaks they I live in.
Yet I have car hoist (my spine is so fucked I couldn't work on cars without it). I have a bunch of good ideas and have beaten some much better cars and drivers then my 1994 Ford falcon wagon… Bet an Audi r8 in a hill climb. Race car stuff… Becuase sometimes a broke bastard can drive.
Never built an engine before, but have to now. Even shape heads with sandpaper as could not afford a dremel or a flash cnc job at the engine shop…
And it anyone deserves just one thing.. Just one free part… Its people like me…
Listening to this advert masquerading as a drag racing video makes me kind of sad.
I work as hard as I can and most weeks I can't even get out bed for three days.
Getting 400 a week and paying over two hundred lease and reacuing abondoned animals means I will never own a Haltech.
Becuase Jason Cantoon and rich arse you tubers get free stuff.
Where as guys that literally put their life into their speed addiction.. Guys like veterans who come home shot up… Same story, sadly.
The guys who could really do something special if only the corporate world would look past our addiction to pain killers or booze and see our bloody character and good natures despite everything..
Anyway.
This twenty minute advert talked a lot about records and racing but showed none.
Worst Haltech advert to date sorry guys.
Not that you give one single half of a shit what I think as will never be able to afford your product so will continue sticking resistors in here and there to fool the standard Ford EECV ecu from the 90s…
And will still beat some cars twenty years newer that should never be beaten by a 500 dollar ford wagon with leaf springs that has a head reshaped with sandpaper.. Pinion angle set by eye by angle grinding lowering blocks into wedge shapes… Get more camber up front by chopping the top arm and drilling different holes for the pivots…
Anyway.
It is what it is
When you're absolutely screwed you either give up or keep trying different ideas to do things for free.
Maybe the damaged returning soldier and the damaged smashed up old bastard writing this could be hit on you tube one day just like all those YouTube millionaires who get everything for free.
If only we weren't in so much pain and in deep depressions and seemingly angry at nothing… That's what chronic pain and mental suffering does guys. We are capable. But only for a few hours here and there. If we could go 24/7 like we did for years before the thirtieth serious incident ruined us just one step too far..
So glad to see others doing what they love and going on and on about it though… Would prefer to see some actual races… Maybe leave these talking head advert spokespeople in a small window and let us see some racing like your clickbait thumbnail lead me to believe. Sorry, I'm back saying what a bad video this is again. Oopsie
Well…bugger. I will never understand capitilism.. Those with friends, family and businesses get free stuff.. And then laugh or criticise people like me becuase they think they have earnt it through working harder or whatever.
When I worked sixty hours a week building… Paid huge tax and child support. But hey, the results of being wide open throttle at work and play leaves us with a real struggle.
It's a life. Not a lifestyle.
Just wish I was someone else sometimes. Not the poor war veteran though… Becuase giving all for your country just to have no home and people spit at you when you ask for spare change to buy some more painkillers from the local bottle shop…
Well, that would make me angry… I feel angry for them despite the shit life I have appearing to be just as bad.
Believe me.. Living in a leaky shed with stray cats and a collection of very cheap cars is a thousand times better than the gutter that we find ourselves in after overdosing on pain medications but being too tough, too stupid or just plain too stubborn to admit that we just had way too bloody much… It would be embarrassing to fall on your face in front of your girlfriend, so you leave.. Only to find that when you are bought back from the dead she found you and was found by a police car sitting on your chest punching your face hard, fast and often whilst screaming at you how much she is hating you for leaving and dying…
I could go on for a few books worth of life.
Keep up the good work. Give away your excellent product to those who could easily afford it and making pretty poor videos.
Yes, I make even worse videos… But I don't care. Really don't care.. Once upon a time there was a music video or two with me producing and editing.. So I can do that too.
But only for a few hours a day.. And don't know when that day is. Could be this week, could be next month..
Becuase it's a life. Not a lifestyle.
Condolences to the guy that lost his best friend, his speed friend.
Am so glad my tuner @turbojoe convinced me to get a better engine management for my high school 1990s torpedo box.
Love the import vs domestic videos you guys do every year!
Nice re-cap… Just so you know, local pronunciation of Maryland is "Marel land" 😉 Nice tribute.
Great video..Congrats to David for the win in WS….See what can do about that turbo last 100ft drive-by next year…

Sending love to Nick ❤️
damn, that purest tear water coming from sad man, make my tear rushing my eyes too
Can u make a plug n play for my 2000 outback usdm
Truck came before his friend wow man
Nick is probably the most kind and humble racer I’ve ever met. We walked over to his trailer in the middle of the night last year and he told us his whole story, let us sit around his fire, and even look around and get in the truck. I’ve been to 18 of the last 20 WCFs and it just get better and better because of people like this. Great video!
