The Plaid is weight-reduced and running on the stock Pirelli P Zeros on 19” wheels. (Backseats and most rear material removed. Both front seats are still IN PLACE, along with all door panels, airbags, mirrors, 20 stereo speakers and subwoofer remain intact.)

Great Race! Modified cars can always surprise. Like the original Demon, trying to get those top record factory times in the 170 will be elusive except for super skilled drivers under perfect conditions. This is a strength of the Tesla Model S Plaid. It is both consistently quick, and proven reliable, not counting on perfect conditions or worried about blowing up the drivetrain. Still, the Demon 170 is to be celebrated, because it is truly a street legal drag racing car, and one of the last of it's breed. Unfortunately (like the original Demon) so many of them will be bought by collectors, only to sit in a garage and occasionally make it's way out to car shows and parades.
Those Demons will be the next barracudas…expensive as hell in the future

Curious if your plaid does the 1.9 0-60 that tesla claims? Never seen a full weight one do it but since you're gutted, curious if it'll do it now?

watching the video, i think you turning your head (from watching him to center) caused a minor yoke movement and may have contributed to the slower 60' 4:44

i saw random tesla plaid before without the passenger seats , the only seat there was for the driver so you save hundred of pounds
if you don't mind try this technique. it might reduce ur 1/4 by 0.1 sec or 2
Just read that Dodge denied a warranty claim on a new Demon 170 with an engine failure (one dead cylinder) at less than 1000 miles on the odometer. Their basis for the denial was that the owner had removed the forward CAT constituting a “modification” to the car. Ouch.
how much of the battery gets used up in a full acceleration drag 1/4 like this ?
