Supercharged Stepside & 454 SS Massive Burnouts! – 1962 Bagged Chevy C10 Ep. 12

Grab one of the new ’62 Tees before they’re all gone!

What should our first upgrade to the 454 SS be? Let us know in the comments!

———————————————————————————————————————

This week we’re saying goodbye to one of our favorite C10’s we’ve built at the shop. The slammed, ls swapped supercharged, c-notched, patina stepside is finally going home with its owner. We really loved everything about this LS C10 build. From the clean, hoodless engine bay, showing off the 6.2L LS3 and Whipple supercharger, to the custom inner fenders closing out our Airlift Performance shocks, to slam this Porterbuilt Chassis down onto our Detroit Steel Wheel Co Ambassador wheels, it’s hard to let go of a truck this awesome! But it wasn’t just fun to drive this truck because it was comfortable, with its huge Restomod AC system, this thing really rips!

Which is why we took it out to the @shiftculturetv lot in Ft. Pierce to give her one last hard rip to send this bagged stepside off in style. And when we say Brock really lets her rip, we mean he REALLY lets her rip!

And since Ft. Pierce is a nice little drive, we didn’t want to come with JUST the supercharged C10. So we drove up our new Chevy 454 SS OBS shop truck! This thing is a big rusty and dusty, but she’s got some torque and can burn some tires!

Even though the 454 1500 is supposed to be a parts-getter, we can’t help but make some upgrades to this thing. So what do you guys think we should do to the 454 first?!

Thank you Sergio Zambrano for the additional footage! Check him out at @saz.pe on IG!

  1. Awesome build it was great to watch it from beginning to end. This was my second resto I’ve followed and both are fantastic, still holding on for the rest of the Chevelle build

  2. Two bad ass trucks for sure… but near and dear to my heart is that obs truck. I have modified about 11 of those trucks and its the only platform i work with. Just a bad ass all around truck. Can NOT wait to see what u guys come up with for that truck. I can only imagine looking at that 62

  3. Really LS builds are super cool, BUT over done. The 454 in that truck is the same 454 that guys are getting on the cheap from RV's and junk yards. They have big displacement but weak cams and in the 1991 era have choking head flow. Keep the 454 and build it like we would. Swap out the heads and cam, then top with a way too huge intake system whether that's a double 4 port Terminator X, or even an old school root 1471 blower topped 2×4 Holley pair. Lots of ways to go with it, but definitely need to add a blower or a twin turbo with the 454's low stock compression.

  4. DO NOT LS SWAP THE 454. I think rebuild the big block with a wild cam and a full exhaust and maybe a sniper EFI and or a blower. Then of course yall always go wild on the suspension. Freshen up the headlights and the interior. Then just leave it.
