Awesome! Congrats on the 10.70. That's moving. I wonder if instead of a straight shifter you could get away with a forward bent shifter. It might keep your hand more level.
Iv gotta say I love watching you guys, you do an awesome job tess, congrats on the 10.7! you an tony make an awesome team! Keep it coming lol… also what mic do you guys use???
Nice job,,, maybe move the seat right to be closer to shifter, and put a real containment seat with 5 point harness so you’re not getting bounced all over the place on the launch so you can gitit into second… and if something goes south you can be safe!!!!!
On a positive note just think about it your street car is faster the alot of people's race car or what they claim is a race car great job tess and Tony
Stick shift is the hardest to do so don't beat yourself up it's easy to go fast in automatic transmission well easier than a stick shift I've been watching you src and chief those are my favorite to watch..❤
Ok- I have a solution!!! Run a 6AL-2 box. Use a 2 wire clutch safety switch and tap it into your be housing so it is pressed in when your clutch fork hits it and closes the contact. Hook this to the single wire ground to activate the 2-step on the MSD box. Presto!!! Adjustable 2step rpm triggered off your clutch- you can press the clutch, give wide open throttle at the light, and focus on that tree!!! I used this method on my fox bodies flawlessly.
I think this is so great. Lots of girls used to race in my days, not many left now days. I reced a 71 comet G T in the 70s. Didn't know what I really had until I went to a automatic. Loosing RPM between shifts. Love the videos. Thanks for the memories.
Why don't you try to shift the 1,2 like you shift the 3,4… I'm no expert but any means… But it looks like the angle that your talking about would be best if you shift 1,2 with you hand on top of the shifter pushing down… But either way… Bad ass video ..keep up the kool content!!!
It’s crazy that something so small in the whole scheme of things like added shifter length can help improve the efficiency of the whole run like it did.
You need to think racing each time you go up to the lands even on testing because it can form a bad habit if you don’t do that. And the bad habit could be to think it’s just testing so it is what it is. That can make you inconsistent
An inline shifter is the answer
i think tess does great with a stick shift class, most these guys using automatics with a trans brake
Do yourself a favor and pick up a Long (brand) shifter stick, SBB1 would probably do the trick. Best handles on the market.

Just love you you are so funny hope to meet you some time
I think a straight shifter would have you reaching too far forward. A little less of an angle would be better.

Awesome video ! Enjoyed it. Just keep being you. Thanks Tony for your fine camera work!

It's time to step up her safety equipment. Don't ya think? But, she's looking good…
Trying to hard and thinking about it. Just do it. It will come

Velcro on the shifter or switch 180°
I'm little older & embarrasses with the butt shots fyi…
Grabbing gears !!!! You need Jimmy Dales little wing
Great video and Miss Mav's smile is a great way to start my day
Instead of a shift ball try the pistol grip type
I just love you Tess you are amazing!!
Bad ass day Tess!!!!
When I stage a stick car I try to stage before my component so I have a little extra time to get my launch rpm set right.
At the end, get out of there! Had tears coming out. Tony just can’t help it! It’s impossible, lol.
Just luv y'all! So legit, but still so damn fun.

It’s not the shifting it’s your leg foot to clutch is to slow
Slow down the footage and look at how long the time is between the shift and the release of the clutch
U did a lot faster with your leg release speed when you raced that gasser car

Y’all are a one-off a kind love when y’all are at the old man’s house
Tess turn the shift handle around that may help
