Run What Ya Brung – Grudge Races

It was an amazing BC Day long weekend at Mission Raceway as Harley Davidson dealerships from across British Columbia came together for Run What Ya Brung, a full day of drag racing, dealership rivalries, and Sportster 1250S showdowns.

Hosted by Mountain View Harley Davidson and Barnes Harley Davidson Kelowna, with participation from all BC Harley retailers, the event featured a grudge match between dealerships. Each team raced nearly identical Sportster S motorcycles equipped with aftermarket exhausts. With 125 horsepower on tap and eyes on the 10 second quarter mile mark, the competition was fierce and the energy electric.

Stuart from Trev Deeley Motorcycles represented his team on the track and reflected on the challenges of reaction time with the pro tree setup. All three yellow lights flash before green, and if you see the green light, you were too late. Each round gave riders a chance to sharpen their timing and push their machines to the limit.

The day offered more than just the dealership match. Spectators enjoyed everything from novice races to pro-level passes, including a top fuel exhibition from Ron Helm that wowed the crowd.

This was more than a race day. It was a celebration of motorcycle culture, community, and the shared thrill of speed. For anyone who missed it, they missed something special.
