  1. Those straight 6 are hard to kill, the one in my 79 had 177,000 and when I got ready to swap in the 350 I tryed to blow it up, because I was 21 years old and that's what you do at that age, i ran the absolute crap out of it reving it to the moon dumping tge clutch, holding the gas pedal to the floor and winding it toll it wouldnt rev out any more then push the clutch without letting of the gas as I shifted and it took it like a champ, but my buddy had one in a old square body, and his had over 300,000 on it and he tryed and tryed blowing it up and finally he drained the oil out of it and then held it to the floor and it set there reving to the moon with no oil for almost 5 minutes straight before it locked up, he went out the next day broke it loose with a breaker bar and it started back up, so he floored it again and it lasted about 2 minutes and threw a rod , they are tuff

  2. Old timer trick. Fill it full of lucus hub oil and one qt of the thickest oil you can fine. The oil stabilizer breaks down to fast as it’s meant to do. The hub oil won’t thin out as fast since it’s meant to handle higher load pressures bc of what it’s designed to do in bearings. We use to do that but only on engines that don’t have long for this world. Might get you that extra bit of time. I know this already happened but little info for next time your in that situation
