As you’ve seen in some of our recent videos, we’ve been hard at work at Proven Power Cycles trying to get all of our race motorcycles ready to go for XDA Spring Nationals 2025 at Maryland International Raceway! If you watched the XDA stream or watched it live in general, you typically just see the highlights or the bikes going down the track. In this video, we take you behind the scenes so you can see exactly what goes on in preparation for the track. You can spend months getting a bike ready to race, even on the dyno, but until you actually run down the track, you don’t know how it’s going to act. Traction, adjusting boost, tire pressure, heat.. there are a million variables that need to be fine tuned for that particular day and track. And you’ll also see how NOT pretty some of these bikes are. Especially when the main goal is to get the bike down the track. A lot of times, these motorcycle track events are not only fun, but they also allow us to collect data that will help us moving forward. Once we got to the track, we were able to get all of the bikes down the track which was a huge success. Sean Henson ran superstock and real street and made it through to the elimination rounds. Eric Lee ran against Rickey Gadson during the qualifying round. We ran into an issue with the bike Sean was riding. The hayabusa seemed to lose fuel pressure as it went down the track. At first we thought the fuel was boiling due to the engine heat, but after further review, we noticed that the motorcycle tank liner was failing at starting to fall apart. This is due to the methanol fuel we’re using. Methanol fuel is extremely corrosive and can’t be used in a tank with an aftermarket liner. Once this liner breaks up, it’ll start to clog the fuel pump and filter causing a lack of fuel. At the end of the day, we were able to collect a bunch of data which gets us closer and closer to our goal of being the fastest motorcycle race team!
