Because the shutdown area has zero VHT track compound and zero built-up rubber. It is completely raw, untreated concrete and asphalt. This completely levels the playing field and perfectly simulates the unpredictable conditions of real-world street racing, but within the safety of our concrete barrier walls. Traction is no longer a guarantee; it is a luxury. Power means absolutely nothing if you cannot pedal the car and put that horsepower to the ground. There are no timeslips, no indexes, and no electronic Christmas trees here. Every single race is initiated by a human flagger dropping the arms, meaning driver reaction time and immediate throttle control are the only things standing between a win light and a devastating loss.
