Today was a a great day for no prep drag racing, but we screwed up every single pass…….LOL It is what it is, but we were having fun regardless. Casper threw a free entry 2500 to win backside no prep race, we had 24 cars battling it out for some cash. See if you can guess what we did wrong on each pass before I tell ya……lol

You could eliminate a lot of your mistakes by using checklists and by not being in panic mode all the times. When I was a young man working with complex equipment the old timers had a saying: "The hurrier you work the behinder you get". That was a true statement.
In your short video, I was going to comment about the CO2 not being on. First thing that came to mind when I saw other people comment that the car didn’t shift.

Life is challenging when working on a race day (this is where a written, checkout type, pre-pass routine checklist(s) comes into play), one at the trailer….Did we ck oil level, catch can level, Co2 Tank pressure, add Meth, tire pressures, etc..
Then Pre-Pass check list, drivers gear, CO2 tank on, final rear slick pressures, chute lockout flag/pins out, doors on and shut, front end Zeus fittings locked down, hood pinned, belts tight, belts tight, belts tight again, fire suppression system on, gloves on, visor down, etc.
Mental notes are good, written notes and actually following an every pass no matter how hurried (or sharp your mind or routine is ingrained), is just better.
Count that 1 as an 8200 RPM, 6.11 second, 660'/114MPH first gear burnout, and know the engine is fully tested (rings are definitely seated against the walls, no blowby since no pressure in the valve covers), and that the vacuum pump is working if it made it through that pass. But, to keep from blowing it up, time to write the routines down, and attempt to not easily miss a single step as neither 1 of us is not getting a day younger John.
Processes being automatic is great, but you have been adding new things, and the human mind takes the auto-overide "garbage in-garbage out" process, and if new steps are added to a routine, or just new things you are adding to the car or are testing (new catch can, new lines, is it steaming like a choo-choo out back where I can't see it, or not, etc.), then your brain can only hold on to so many immediate priorities, and drops the oldest automatic process you never ever forget, as it gives it a tag of lower priority, and ooopp,s happens.
We are human, we make mistakes, trim the mistakes, set it in writing, follow the script, and then the only priority is to follow the written script.

I have noticed in the NHRA, drivers have been getting fined and slapped on the wrist hard for a few things the last 2 years (very important things like wearing jewelry in Nitro fuel cars, and in many very fast chutes required cars for leaving the "Remove Before Flight" lockout pins in both parachutes and fire suppression systems, over and over, and over….Not small things like forgetting to turn on a CO2 bottle, but big always do huge safety things in cars you shall not miss a safety step in.
I am beginning to wonder with a nation/world affected by covid19, if minds clouded by a virus, or past infection has anything to do with the issue at all. Because the missing of minor details, important details seems to be suffering across the board…who knows brother?
But, you are not an idiot for missing a small detail, just a really busy man who wants to enjoy the added hobby activity, and life gets in the way. You are constantly overcoming issues, and striving constantly to do better and get faster from A to B on a budget.
Lots of changes, not a lot of passes, that happens when racing while testing. At least with the Holley you can see it and fatten it back up. You are on your way now, you found out a ton in just 2 licks.

John remember what is drag racing? #1 rule repetition you cant skip steps. we all get comfortable and skip them but we end up learning from it. i had to learn that many times im hardheaded lol

One way you may be able to save that situation in the car if it's too late is by coming on and off the throttle quickly to make it add fuel through accel enrichment until it gets to the 2 step at least.
