My FIRST Engine Build – 6.0 LS For My Pontiac Tempest

I did it! Built my first engine from top to bottom! I decided to go with a 6.0L LS block and hop up the engine with some good cylinder heads, a lope-y camshaft, and flat top pistons. Thank you to my amazing boyfriend Danny for guiding me through the build and letting me do all the work myself. I know it wasn’t easy for him to sit back and watch. I have learned SO much throughout this process and I know my next engine build will be even bigger & better!

Thank you to these companies for getting on board with my engine build:

AIR FLOW RESEARCH

CP CARILLO

GRANATELLI MOTORSPORTS

HOLLEY PERFORMANCE

Major thank you to Dustin Lee Racing Engines for all the phone calls, engine discussions, machine work and parts! Go subscribe to him on YouTube for the best engine content:

  1. well done everyone has to do their first engine i did mine at 15years old done a couple since then I'm 66 now but still love building engines cars, bikes, trucks all the same to me, keep going liv

  2. I don't always make it all the way through all your videos but this was my favorite by far!!! Great watching you make those little accomplishments. I hope after you build a couple, you make a how to series.

  3. File fitting rings sucks SO bad. That was literally a full day in the garage doing mine. Cam bearings weren't too bad once I realized what the 2nd set of bands was for in the kit. I thought they were replacements until I rolled the edge of 1. So now I have an extra practice set to let people learn lol. Trunions, I bought the comp cams tool. It's pretty easy to set them up, snap ring is the hardest part with the tools

  4. Love ur micky Thompson, shirt, he was the investor of, the Christmas tree at race tracks ,for those may not knew that his history, is great to learn lots videos on him ,4 engine, 389 ,car super fast great shirt liv,

  5. Now you know the work that goes into building an engine. Good job! So many people think it's just slapping parts on and bolting it in. There's way more than what you even showed. You should be proud of yourself. I don't know you, and I'm proud of you!
