Nice top down and asphalt level perspective. Really shows how squirrelly these runs can get
I almost cried. I grew up watching these cars when they used to come to Huntsville dragway. Big money was always and still is my hero.
What's crazy is most of these cars are still around and racing.
A 3.87 in 2006…? Prodigious.
It's amazing how badly technology has ruined the visual purity/joy of pro modified.
I’d love to see Memphis when big money won an Steve Vick in pro nitrous. Used to have CD. Used to
A lot more superchargers than turbos back in those days and the cars were louder as a result. I'm from the UK and my dad used to take me to Santa Pod from around 2004-06. No top tier drag cars ran turbos back then. In fact, the only things I remember seeing running turbos at that time were sport bikes. Now there's Japanese cars competing at the top level, which I don't have a problem with, but that's not what it was like 17 years ago. The import drag scene barely even existed here in the UK back then.
