  1. need to be practicing getting out that fast …I practice that in my shop multiple times a week full gear before a race and also practice exiting both doors …need to get those reps in for that one time you need it

  2. we ran a fuel car for decades and the pins come out of the bottles after the burnout… Guys go "well it is a fuel car" What I tell them, fire is cooler? car slows down from 200 slower? nope…. best fire suit, fire bottles money can buy.. worth every penny when the driver is not burned….. glad to see you alive… Might not kill you to lose a few pounds but it might kill you if you dont… FWIW I have and the car owner have both spent our time in pressure bandages….. sure sucks to get burned..

  3. When this came out, I counted 36 seconds from the time you came to a stop till Corey pulled you out. Then I tried to hold my breath for that length of time. No way I could do it. You are a lucky guy. And Corey is the man!

  4. glad you made it out of there with minimal injuries. hopefully it's a kick in the pants to everyone to recheck their fire safety equipment so what happened to you doesn't happen to them. EMT's were probably playing along with it when you told them your name was Steve. it wasn't uncommon for us to use alternate names for athlete's/celeb's where i worked as an EMT so that paparazzi's couldn't track them going to the hospital or hospital employee's that weren't working with the patient could leak information(happens way more then you think sadly).

  5. Don’t know why people won’t use Fireslayer suppression systems . You don’t have any failsafe if you can’t find or remove a pin to enable your system .
    These tubes react quickly ,
I have had them save several cars , and boats as well.
Only had used a single one thankfully, but worth it .

  6. To help with fire suppression ,could you mount thermocouples to the firewall and other areas that may see fire within the engine bay? Also I never realized the parachute bags were not heat resistant. Do the make bags that are? Hope to see you on the track soon ,I have enjoyed your post.

  7. Watching Big Country refuse to give up and repeatedly put his face and body into that hideous hell of smoke and flames to drag you out brings me to tears. That's a good fukn man there. The dude is so humble but fuk that he's a hero and we all should hope he's around if we're ever in the flames. So glad your OK Mike.

  8. 3:39 shows it all. The car is burning, and the fuel cell is about to explode. The SwanGang all risked their lives in that smoke and fire to get his belts off and out of the seat. Why do I just KNOW they're going to STILL get crapped on?

  9. Been there major wrecks and all my friend picked up the pieces and got them home, for months I had to learn how to comprehend and put words in to sentences, we rebuilt and whent back to racing.

  10. Damn brother glad you’re OK never was a big fan of big country but I sure am now That’s a brave man to go in and drag you out two thumbs up wish you all the best Mike love y’all
