In Episode 2 of Llandow Laps, Chris Harris puts two of the latest supercars through their paces: the sensational 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and the new McLaren 750S. Powered by a naturally aspirated flat-six producing 525hp, the GT3 RS might win purists’ hearts, but will it be enough to see off the monstrous 750hp twin-turbocharged V8 in the McLaren?
Arguably, the GT3 RS appears to be the more track-focused machine, thanks in no small part to its substantial rear wing; but with 40% less power and a higher kerb weight than the McLaren, it’ll really have to make the most of that advanced aero to find grip on the slippery 0.9-mile Llandow circuit.
After a brief and ‘confidence inspiring’ chat with Chief Marshall John, the only thing left to do is set the fastest possible lap time in these two phenomenally powerful machines, all while trying to avoid, in Chris’ words, “a full code brown”. So, what are you waiting for? Watch Llandow Laps Episode 2 below to see which of these stunning supercars comes out on top.

Llandow Laps is our exciting new series, hosted by Chris Harris at the ‘legendary’ Llandow Circuit in South Wales.
The concept behind Llandow Laps is to pitch two vehicles from the same genre against one another to see which is faster; and the first series will feature grand tourers (with a twist), hot hatches, supercars, roadsters, and restomods.
As well as showcasing the cars’ performance on track, the films will also reveal the behind-the-scenes work required to produce the end result, introducing some of the personalities from the Llandow Circuit and the Collecting Cars team.
The science bit: All cars featured in Llandow Laps will be unmodified from the specification seen on screen, they’ll be running with a full tank of fuel, and they’ll be fitted with sensible tyres available on the road cars from the factory.
Lap times will be recorded, and a winner of each head-to-head will be revealed – although there’ll be more focus on the driving experience and character of the cars than on the numbers alone.

It's amazing that noone today would set out designing a high performance car with a rear- mounted engine and yet Porsche continues to develop class-leading cars…
if it's wet, the 750s would easily take it with tires that have much more tread and able to clear water.
GT3 easy,much more downforce,faster in corners,Mclaren faster on straights
Gt3 rs will win, should really be a LT mclaren as that's track focused .
If you added the 765LT that would’ve been mega!
Gt3 RS ' all day long .
I'd take the GT3RS for the engine alone. Sounds so much better than the McLaren and likely to be more reliable with better residual value.
There's a 250 HP gap between the two, the more powerful one might take it due to straight line speeds.
If take a 296 and forgive the awful user interface
What’s the point in putting on screen the RRP of the Porsche?
Depends if there is any kind of straight the mclaren blowing the Porsche out of the water, Porsche is slow if you will
Do you guys ever have a dry track or roads to drive on in the UK?
992 is huge inside. No way Chris is that little
Why are these race tracks always wet? It's weird for me because I come from a country where we have dry, sunny winters and summers are so warm that track moisture would evaporate within an hour.
No way it’s raining in England!?
Much rather have the mclaren than the beetle
they hybrid replacement for the 750S will be utterly bonkers
Is the 750S really £350k?
Quality driving Mr Harris…!
Amazing great video
Couldn’t agree more I wouldn’t pay a penny over sticker for the Porsche but the McLaren is different, under a million hard to beat it
McLaren please everyone has a VW911.
I wish you guys would also include a flying lap time for each car so us track day guys can get some kind of comparison to our own vehicles at Llandow.
All these wanker hanger ons don't equal one Neil Carey
I'd have the McLaren just for its looks alone ❤
Maclarens are insane. How do the make a hybrid of a muscle car, a GT and a Supercar that on paper performs like a hypercar?
The McLaren with an extra 200 + hp over the high down force Porsche is going to be hard to beat, even on a wet track.
750s win,what?WOOOOW
