As you said, you could see the Stage bulbs flickering before you even put on the Pre-Stage bulb. They should have re-ran that run. But as someone who puts on races myself, I can understand if they didn't have time to re-run and give the winner enough time to cool back down for round 2. The situation sucks for everyone…. you, the guy you ran, and the event staff. They did try to make it right and you gave them credit for that.
