After an unfortunate incident in Florida during SICK WEEK, I took Vicki’s 1965 El Camino straight to the body shop when we got home.
It’s been out of sight, but not out of mind. We’ve missed having it here at the shop, and I couldn’t wait to show it to Vicki when I got it home. ❤️

The El Camino looks beautiful!!
One time I had a starter noise as you described only do it while accelerating I accidently omitted a shim between starter motor and the block small washer to take out horizontal slack in bendix. If u look for mini starter shim kit it's the round washer one.
Maybe it was your starter. Maybe it hung on the flywheel.

Bill i had that same noise when one of my starter bolts was barley loose. just enough to make a sound exactly like you're describing.
Mr Bill, Jax wax and House of pearl definitely do some great work ! If you're thinking about adding a camshaft to Miss Vicki's motor for the MailCamino ? How about the old 360 horse 3030 duntoff camshaft which was hydraulic and used in the 1965 Malibu ss .
U can tell that dyno guy is starting to feel like a Simp
Build a 292 six for the El Camino and put a 700r4 behind that.
I just wanna shoutout Vicki, I ordered some SRC merch at 11:30am and they had my order shipped the same day, so she’s got that place running like a top!
I have a nice 1965 283 truck engine for sale if you know anyone interested
Most of the factory hood scoops were lucky to make 5 horsepower and they only did at about 90 to 100 miles per hour
