Both bikes have exhaust are the same CC’s. But what do you think about the power level differences in the mid and high ranges?

  1. Hi Chris, great job as always !
Don’t you think the Kawa would gain some peak power if one removes the Dbkiller ?
I would love to see this as a cool pre flash/ post flash comparison:
Max throttle in Fifth gear from 3000rpm to redline and measure the time gains ! That’s a pretty fun way to see real world driveability performance.

  2. super interesting…i was waiting for this one, thank you mister moore! but i thing we have to remember that the suzuki GT (the true rival to de SX) is 10kg lighter, so, would that compensate on the streets for the lower power numbers comparing to the SX? Cheers

  3. Subscribed….. Full disclosure, I already own a Ninja 1000 and a Z900. I like the Suzuki for what it is but I just can't get behind the looks even if it does have more top end. That headlight and display/turn signals just kill it for me. Looks like I need to send my ECU's in for a tune though at some point. Congrats on the growth of the channel.

  4. Excellent video!!
My 2021 Ninja 1000sx sounds way better with Delkevic headers+decat+GR moto end can (that Akrapovic exhaust is too quiet with the baffel in).
I definitely appreciate more low down torque verses the over 10,000 rpm gains for real world riding. Both bikes a brilliant!

  5. To answer your question, I rode the GSXS 1000 before buying the N1K, and the Kawasaki feels faster in everyday riding. The fatter torque curve makes shifting to pass optional, and ridden in isolation I do not feel like the N1K is lacking much on the top end, but I'm shifting at 10k during a hard pull. I did not take the GSXS to redline, but the relative weakness down low was enough that my test ride was over 5 minutes in. N1K all the way. Also, the N1K is seriously more comfortable for my 6'1" 230lb self.

  6. The type of exhaust systems has alot to do with the power curves and where their making their power. Both are great bikes and make plenty of street power. Most people want utilize power of either. The GSX-S1000 is quite a bit lighter (better power to weight ratio). It's really according to what your type riding you do as to which bike works better for you. I have ridden the GSX-S1000 in the mountains. It handled unbelievably well and can't imagine needing or using anymore power on the road. I was riding with my friends we all been riding Supersport for 20 plus years. Each of us took our turn on my buddies new 2022 GSX-S1000 and where quite impressed in the twisties. For me it be the GSX-S1000 for my aggressive riding style. I loved the straight up sitting position. After all day with it I got used to the looks. It actually looks awesome from the side view. I believe I'm going sale my gsxr 750. My aging body fell in love with the comfort losing very little in handling departments in the twisties.

  7. Chris, Congratulations on 100k !!!!
On these bikes I preferred the Zuke. Better sound and better top end although I would not purchase either bike. Just not my cup. Im still killin the game on my MooreMafia tuned bikes! 19Busa and 04ZX10r.
Thanks to you Chris , I stay out front!

  8. Greetings from Germany! You deserve those 100k! Keep on going always a pleasure to watch those super performing bikes after you fixed them and knowing about your speed limit LOL

  9. Outside of my current FJR, the N1K & GSX1000GT are two of my favorite currently available bikes. I'd love one or the other in my garage. Both great bikes, for sure.

I previously owned a modded '11 N1K and it was a fantastic bike for a solo rider, not so much 2 up, ergo the FJR in my garage now. The latter is also a fantastic bike, just 150 lbs too heavy. But for longer rides or two up? Hands down the winner.

Given my druthers, I prefer lower end power so the N1K for the win but I could easily 'settle' for the GSX too! Not the M4 muffler, tho- too loud. I prefer the quietude of the OE exhaust. The M4 is obnoxious.

  10. I have a 2010 z1000 basically the same engine with a more aggressive intake cam and different velocity stacks and it takes really really well to tuning, it’s not as powerful as the gsxs but it actually does a lot better than the new ninja1000 on the dyno, and my bike weighs 453 lbs on a floor scale at work basically as fully fueled as it can be
