Brutal to the head. thank goodness it appears the engine just needs a quick clean up on that one side. Do they have a one piece copper gasket you can use ? Those stacked up feeler gauge things are scary lookin.

Looks to me you hydroliced the cylinder mid pass an it tried to push the head off not uncommon if you lose fire
