Today we give a project overview of the Twin Turbo Ameri-Barra Vortec 4200 Powered 1974 Datsun 260z. This car has had a few engines in it. A small block chevy, a Turbo LS, another small block chevy and now a Turbo Vortec 4200.

  2. have you ever weighed a bare block? i'm curious if these are lighter than an aluminum 5.3. i'm building an 85 Merc currently that will be GM4200 with a Glide and Fueltech for raceweek/sickweek. we've been 4.80s with a SBE 5.3 in a 3100lb mustang. would love to push this combo since not a lot of people do.

  3. Yeah you ain't kidding, that 4-2 has enough injector to keep it happy for quite a while LMAO. Tho I tend to sway towards Japanese power plants in Japanese cars I really really like this combination. The uniqueness and fab work is quite nice in this day n age where there are plenty of guys just buy a bunch of parts and slap em on & expect to go fast. Can't wait to see what this baby can do with some big boy internals & more boost. Might have to switch to a single massive turbine.
