  1. Sounds like you’ve never been 225 over the 1/4 mile !! And sounds like you want to race no time but don’t want to spend the money to do it . Just spend the money to do it and put in the work !! Do it yourself

  2. I appreciate you sharing this. I think it’s important for people to understand the cost and rules associated with racing. It helps to appreciate what we are watching and understand the direction of your business planning.

  3. Nothing wrong with run what you brung, no sand bagging, or you loose, no time racing.
Sell the drift car, buy another Mustang like Chip cut the floor out trunk to firewall and cut the firewall, and strut towers out. Then, build it here on your channel. I believe you have the skill, and Tye, I'm sure, would give advice where you need it. Transplant your 2JZ, then sell or LS power the Camaro. You could even cut Chip up and do that to Chip.

  4. On a more serious note, does Hybrid system have their own class or they have to fit existing class?
Because if you want some challenge, you can get 2 Yasa engines and put one behind each front wheel. They have a 480hp one that develop 800Nm. It weights 24kg for a fat disk-shape of 5L of volume (A little more than a gallon).
As the start is the most difficult part on every parts of the car, you can have the instant torque of an electric engine on your torque eating automatic gearbox.
Then you can make a lighter car and add back some weight where needed with the battery cells.

It gonna be one hell of a challenge if you try that route.

  5. I dig the brain dump. Great video. These are the things that need to be said but everyone is not wanting to say. Class racing has become a money game. I’ve always been a street guy but there is a lot at stake in that. No prep and back side racing has become my go too. D N D is awesome to watch but again all about the money.

  6. Cooper. Not to mention if you crash the car, now you’re starting ALL over. As an ex-drag-racer that dropped a house payment in full, on a car. Just to lose it in a storm and not able to afford to replace it. I know what you’re saying. So if your car goes 10”s just to maintain the car at that point is expensive. But say it’s a 8’s car it’s triple that if not more. And that’s just a single guy taking on that price, if you’re married where is the line between family and car? So here’s my advice for you. It’s really fun like you said to race but a slower car is still fun and the family still has you. Just saying that Brontay (sorry for spelling) is praying that each time you go down the track you’ll come back in one piece. She loves you and if you listen to her when she records your passes. She’s holding her breath each time. Just keep that your children are basically doing the same thing. So you have a 8”s car that’s reliable enough to run many times without having to be repaired every time. Enjoy this forever buddy and don’t worry about getting faster and knowing your coming home regardless of track time.

  7. My plan is to build a drag and drive car. But starting at 0. Like i dont even have a car yet. No idea what my 1/4 time will be when i start doing it. But if i ever get a 10 sec car for drag and drive that would be cool

  8. i get where your at, you built the car you wanted and now its really not competitive in anything. kinda where im at, although i built it as a street car thats slowly moved to drag racing. the problem with any form on heads up racing is it ends up the guy with the most money pushes the class so far that its not fun anymore. with strict rules it just makes it so the guys with money surround themselves with the talent, test the hell out of everything and make changes till they are on top, and the class gets pushed out of reach. its why im not a big fan of heads up racing. flip it around to bracket racing, fast bracket racing can be exciting if its non electronics (throttle stop/delay box), which is hard to find classes for. drag and drive is right now where im at. did my first one last year and it was the best time ive had racing. the thing i see in the future is drag and drive is already getting a tad stale, there are so many of these events now, and technology has almost taken the challenge of driving a race car 1000 miles away as they are much more reliable.

  9. Just do a class where you can have fun and be competitive, and not have $1000s in damage in your car trying to push it to it's bleeding edge every pass

  10. You should try to think of this from a content point of view. Cleetus always starts small, and works himself into faster and faster classes etc. Draw it out, build it up slowly. Do it for ze channeelll.

  11. Honestly Cooper, I miss the days of the CTSV. Even when it failed it was amazing content to watch. If I could push you in a class, I would love to see you put the CTSV together and slowly take it from a 14second class to maybe a 9 second class over the next 2 years…that would be awesome!

  12. I love watching the DnD racing. Maybe one day I'll get to do it…. we love watching the experience that you guys go through… What ever you do, Just remember, you are doing what some people only dream of.

  13. Hey coop, have you ever considered trying no prep? It's becoming more popular and is more a tuners game. Horsepower doesn't always matter with no prep and a cars normally run 5.90s – 4.80s.

  14. Cooper this was like an Inside the Mind episode. At least we see what challenges you face when trying to decide where to race with your combination. Keep putting out content in your own style you are unique and you make things work,
