  1. 2 strokes don't like engine braking as they get their lubrication from their fuel. Engine breaking refers to letting off the gas and letting the bike cost without disengaging the clutch, this spins the engine without needing the throttle. 2 strokes get their lubrication from the fuel, so when there's no fuel but a lot of rpms, that very bad. You were engine braking quite a lot so most likely the engine was running with not nearly enough lubrication causing it to run dry. This friction is ultimately what killed your engine. You can combat this either by engine braking less by pulling in the clutch, staying on the throttle more, more running a heavier oil mix, although that will cause you to lose a tiny bit of power it is way better than having to rebuild your bike all the time.
