It’s been a while since I ran the Malibu successfully on Nitrous at the track. So this past weekend we took the Malibu to National Trail Raceway to test, and get a base line on my Monte Carlo.
We were having a blast clowning around until I cracked the nitrous bottle on the Malibu and I got a reminder… that you don’t have to have a 4 second car to get yourself in a bad position at the track.

What mufflers is on the Malibu?
Bill you need to stop and smell the flowers from Tom sometime
Check out howerton performance for the 55..they make awesome wiring kits
If I win, can you help me install some nitrous along with that new carburetor on my chevelle? Lol
The power wheelie was impressive! After watching SRC channel I thought it just spun the tires. Glad everything worked out, and both you and the car are ok.
Great video as usual. I read the part number through the video. Yalls eyes must be old lmao. Anywho keep up the great content. And much love to yall from Maryland❤❤❤.
You had that, if you would have kept in the throttle then yes you would have almost crashed the Malibu. You’re not a rookie racer so we knew you’d recover.
Ricer flew by the Monte like zero looking for a carrier to torpedo
What the he'll is up with the Monte Carlo headliner
Why do they continue to let you run that car without a roll cage
What day is going to start working on Jimmy Dale's Monte Carlo
wooohooo Thursday… Hey, all BS aside, the Monte sure looks fast as hell…(LOL, worlds slowest car on beadlocks… HA)
Sometimes if you take a really good camera and zoom in a little bit and take a picture of the number. And then zoom in as you're looking at the picture from the good camera, you can make out all the numbers. It's a little trick I learned being blind along time ago.
What's wrong with the S-10?
@TheOldMan'sGarage- I Looked up a stock 1978 Monte Carlo with a 4 speed manual, and a 3.8 Liter V6= 105 Hp, and 185 Lbs. Of Tq., ran a 18.8 second 1/4 mile from the factory. But keep in mind, your 28" tall drag radial= too tall, is killing E.t. for this stock, tiny, Low Hp engine. I know you weren't trying to set any records, and were just running as is, to get a baseline. But your driving Bill, was very good, and was not the reason for a slower than stock E.t., the tall tire is the culprit. Heck on a 12.8 sec. 1/4 mile E.t., stick shift, Na, 5.0 Liter mustang, changing from a 28" tire to a 26" tire dropped the E.t. .4 tenths, down to a 12.4 second 1/4 mile! Slower vehicles gain even more E.t. from changes. So i bet if you put a 24 1/2" tall drag radial, you would get that gearing back, and that E.t. would drop .6 To .8 tenths of a second, so 18.7 to 18.5, either way thanks for running your sweet Monte Carlo!
Did you check the front right shot on the Malibu? When you ride a wheelie and it starts coming down and then darts hard right that means that the right tire is sagging lower than the left tire. Murder Nova had the same issue FYI.
And in the video that you showed when your car shot hard right it looked like the front right tire was sagging. I'm not trying to tell you what to do just giving you my opinion for what I saw. I'm in street racing since I was 16, I am 55 years old. I have a Core 06 Corvette, the LS two and a pro charger currently with a supercharger as well.
That ol montes probably still quicker than my El Camino with a jasper special 350
Love every video! I wish I could drop my camaro off with you guys to make it a little faster.
Let's Goooooo
I really enjoy all the family channels! Been watching src from way back then picked up old mans garage and gen2. All of the builds and race cars are great but I'm partial to the elco. I have a 67
Drone shot of the homestead looks great.
Driveway is on point.
That cupola on the old shop brings the new shop and the old shop together nicely.
They compliment each other very nicely.
Miss Vicki's flowers look fantastic.
Happy to see Addie at the track, when will she be ready to make some passes?
Make the car faster
See what the old monte will do with a 150 shot!!!
Bill, I must say, I love screwing around in the tulip patch! Lol
Is the carb logo on the tumblers?
Bill this has to be the funniest commentary video you have put together yet. Had me rollin a few times. Good work. Oh and would have loved to see the Malibu stick that first pass she was spiced up and rollin, just towards the wall was a problem.
Are you guys coming to Rochester/Brockport New York this Year?!? I missed you guys last year would love to see you guys this year!
Nearly crashed ?
id like to see a 4.3 vortec build in the monte carlo with nitrous back up by a straight shift and gears . i had a 1994 s10 ss 4.3 cpi fuel injection all stock with exterior bolts on backed behind a stock 4l60 with line pressure turn up and a corvette servo , 2500 stall 342 posi , i was on a dry system fuel pressure turned up cold plugs renegade fuel 112 , no converter with y pipe and duals stock timing no chip ,probably shooting about 150 shot , drove it 5 years on the street likethis daily ,before she broke two valaves bent one valve and bent one push rod ,as for the short block its still living in a another vehicle /by the way that engine had 250000 miles , but the s10 on radials could run 1320 flat at102 mph rolled out about 50ft 189 60ft ,840 flat in the eighth miles .but it ran 15,00 at 88mph in the 1/4 mile on motor ,980s in the 1/8 th on motor never put a slick to see if i could have got better i love the fact that i could get in it and drive 35 or 40 miles to a local track here and line up make half a dozen passes and drive home and not tare up nuttin to me that was real street rite there . i love your channel keep up the good work . from the good ole boys in eastern n.c.
Please take care of Ms Vicky she works hard
When the camera is off, Bill: "These are amazing flowers!" – LOL
