I know u guys just got that big block in the car why don’t u guys go dry sump to forget about oil pressure issues . At the point now where g forces r probaly throwing that oil everywhere but at the sump
Love that nova, it’s one serious competitor.
If making oil go through the filter raises the oil pressure up 40lbs,, I throw those filters away! Yes running a higher oil pressure and volume, you should run a stronger oil filter bypass spring or delete the bypass. The oil bypass should have nothing to do with engine oil pressure. There isn’t any place in the part of the oiling system to bleed off pressure. I be checking pressure bypass in the pump. Maybe aeration of the oil. That’s if all bearings clearances are good including cam bearings. And pan to sump clearance.

That nova is Rowdy Son!! Can you put a block heater in your oil pan in the nova to help with moisture and milking the oil?

After years I finally started running a system 1 oil filter with the metal screen, at the recommendation of a racer buddy, pressure has never been higher throughout the rpms
