Today Sean and I talk about the different motorcycle drag racing classes and the builds we do for each class. Getting into motorcycle racing isn’t as tough as it might seem to be. There are cheap or cost effective entry level classes that will help you get into racing. So, How do you get into motorcycle racing on a budget? The first class is Super Stock motorcycle racing. Super stock bikes are basically a stock motorcycle, but with a few upgrades to help give you an edge. Superstock motorcycle class is basically a motorcycle with bolt on components to help with performance. On ours, we do a lot of chassis setup, cutting of the forks and exhaust and tuning. Basically this is a motorcycle setup you could easily do on a budget and get out there to race! It’s a great way to learn how to drag race a motorcycle and a great stepping stone into faster racing classes. The next step up is real street motorcycle drag racing. These bikes are not very “Real Street”, but that’s what they call it. They still have the motorcycle headlight and tail light, but that’s about it. Our real street has a 16 inch carbon fiber front wheel, cut forks, custom dash, 1700cc motorcycle engine built by bob carpenter, max sport ECU and custom wiring harness. These bikes still have a clutch handle for manual shifting. Now some of the specification for the real street class is that every riders weight determines what your wheel base can be. these rules can be found on the XDA website to ensure your bike fits within the rules of the real street class. There are other upgrades we do to these bikes are things like beefing up the supports for the output shaft to ensure nothing breaks because these bikes put out sooo much power off the dig. The other motorcycle racing class is the Grudge race bike or pro street style motorcycle which is basically built with no rules. You can run any wheel base you want with this class. Grudge racing bikes are some of the craziest builds you’ll see a the track with 700 to 800 hp. Our grudge race motorcycle has a massive turbo, auto 4 speed transmission, custom wiring and much much more. This is a motorcycle we’ll be showcasing on the channel much more very soon. We’re still running some tests on it while we dial in all of the new components. If your wondering how to get into motorcycle racing, how to compete in motorcycle racing, how to build a drag motorcycle or how much it costs to build a motorcycle drag racing bike, we’re here to help! We can help you achieve your racing goals and dreams! Proven Power Cycles is your Tampa Bay Area Motorcycle Performance Shop!
