We had our pal Ian Lehn from BOOSTane bring his incredible 1969 Ford Mustang up for a visit a while back—problem was, it developed a nasty power steering whine during the trip. Since we had a warehouse full of auto parts at our disposal and a complement of tools in our studio, we wanted to show you how to troubleshoot a bad power steering pump and, better still, what tools and techniques to use to install one properly. More importantly, we explain some of the problems and symptoms of a bad pump to help you spot trouble and fix it, before it becomes a bigger problem. Follow along as the Mustang gets back on the road with a new power steering pump.
