Here's Why Dodge Chose NOT to Upgrade the Challenger! Stupid or Brilliant?

I give you my thoughts on Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis’ recent comments on why they chose not to upgrade the chassis on the on the Dodge Challenger when they had the chance. It could have been significantly lighter and more maneuverable; however, would it still have been a muscle car? Do you think Dodge made the right decision staying with the older and heavier platform?

  1. I am humbly requesting that you please put out a video in which you talk about the SRT 392’s. I cannot find a significant amount of material out there about them. Seems like everything is all about the Scatpack but these are two totally different cars. They honestly seem to be in a class by themselves & were produced for only 3yrs. Are they special cars in your opinion? Do you believe they going to increase in value & be valuable in the future? If I have a low mileage one should I put it away & treat it as an investment? How should I care for my car for the long term if it is going to be just sitting a majority of the time?

  2. Are you running out of things to talk about? The reason i ask is because lately your videos just have you rambling. Of course dodge should have made the cars lighter. These days, between the muscle and sports cars, its a big dick contest. Dodge shows that it has big balls, but in the end, its all show and no go. Tim Kissass doesn't care about dodge owners, all he wants to do is push the italian garbage that has been rebranded as a dodge and that horrible monstrosity EV that sounds like a gay lion roaring with a lisp.

  3. They did right by keeping the Challenger/Charger there, but that smaller platform would`ve been perfect for a Duster or Dart. I was a service tech at a D/C/J dealer for about 20 years and I remember the first time I saw a Challenger in person at the technician training center. I was like that`s a car that they don`t need to put the name on, because it screamed Challenger in every way. I loved the big roomy interior and muscle car feel of those things from the very beginning.

  4. Why are you saying the electrification is a reality? You are a spokesperson for the viewers that follow you and should be fighting alongside us. Don't lay down on us. We need strong representation to be the voice against electrification.

  5. HEY RACER X I WORK AT THE FCA WINDSOR ASSEMBLY PLANT AND CAME UPON INFORMATION CAN'T REMEMBER WHERE I SEEN IT ABOUT THE ENDING OF THE DODGE RAM 1500 REGULAR CAB PICKUP TRUCK TO END THIS WITH A BAND DODGE SHOULD BUILD A 2023 DODGE RAM 1500 LONGHORN SOUTHFORK EDITION WITH THE AUTOMATIC SHIFTER THAT'S IN THE DODGE RAM GT EDITION AND WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES OF THE FULL SIZE DODGE RAM LONGHORN THIS WOULD SELL LIKE HOT CAKES PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK AND PASS IT ON TO DODGE ?

  6. Look, a Demon runs 10’s, you can’t run 10s without a cage, so too fast and you can’t get them to hook up on the streets. A diet would have been the way to go

  7. Hello RacerX, you know Raiti's Rides reviewed the New LAST 300C & he brought up something i never knew. & that is, the 2023 300C is smaller than the Charger & therefore lighter than the Charger & Challenger, is there any truth to that?

  8. Other than the power platform, the one thing Dodge did right was the exterior and interior designs; they nailed it! But to say they didn't want it to compete directly with the Camaro and Mustangs is a bs statement. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the 1970s Dodge Challenger a response to Ford's 1969 Mustang? It's the same reason why Camaro got into the ring as well…the challengers/chargers have always been big cars. That didn't prevent Sam Posey and his race team from entering the #77 Dodge Challenger into the Trans-Sedan American Championship. I think FCA knew what direction they wanted to take the company and they killed the platform by not investing in it any further. They could have very well redesigned the car for track purpose.

  9. Ever seen the back seat of a challenger? For such a big car it has no room. Sitting on a almost 15 year old chassis is a weak move by Dodge. They don't handle any kind of corner they weigh too much meaning you lose handling, acceleration, and breaking distance. They did it for the money. The only good thing about the Challenger is that hellcat motor and they are not that great to upgrade. All the other models have nothing good about them. Hellcats are for people that don't know cars and want a fast one out of the box. The rest of the models just look kinda alright but don't preform at all. Ever seen a 392 vs a SS or a GT? Weak move by dodge. They really do know their customers. Wanna go dodge just buy a charger. Its a 4 door but at least it will take a corner better than their 2 door. LMAO

  10. Hello Racer X!

I think if the design had stayed the same and only technical changes had been made it would be good, but even so the Challenger is the best muscle car in my opinion. I'm from Germany and decided on a new scat pack in 2021, although I had the choice between Mustang and Camaro, both of which are newer in terms of technology. The reason I bought it was emotion. Challenger is more brutal than any Amg model (optics + sound) and whether you have 500 or 600 hp is no longer so important for street use. By the way, many buyers probably had my idea, because Challenger was sold the most of the muscle cars in the USA in 2021

  11. I’ve had a Challenger…..A Camaro ZL1 and Shelby gt350….I’m gonna tell ya….The Shelby is so much smoother and nimble when it comes to driving and handling…..and the Shelby sounds great….just my opinion.

  12. A ford gt500 weighs 4100 pounds hellcats weighs 4300. If you comparing a ford gt shouldn’t you compare it with a scat pack a mustang gt weighs 3800 pounds how are you getting 1000 pounds lighter?

  13. I'm sure the cops that drive those big heavy cars appreciate the heft. I've seen many a pit maneuver over 100 MPH where the cop walked away no problem, not sure the same would have happened in a Camaro or a Mustang.

  14. Lts face it…Dodge has a damn good marketing dept. Chevy has absolutely NO Marketing, and I drive a 17' SS camaro 6 speed. Chevy could be selling tons of camaros if they advertised them. Who here has seen a Camaro ad??

  15. More than half the country does not buy into this climate change crap, as soon as the current administration is out or stopped in Congress these cars will be back.
