Grubbworm Prep For #FL2K!

Weeks before our trip to FL2K and World Cup, Jonathan decided to swap out the trust LT1 engine for a small block Chevy “BowTie Block” on Grubbworm! Gone is the LT1 engine that has pushed our stick-shift Camaro into the 6s seconds last year at Import vs Domestics World Cup Finals and in goes our new Gen 1 Bowtie Small Block Chevy that has received an improved turbo header flanges from Rock Solid Motorsports and turbo piping to accommodate as well as a new advanced clutch billet adjustable clutch! A new set of Hoosier drag radials instead of the MTs we usually run due to supply issue. A lot of hard work has gone into this F-body Camaro and we can’t wait to see how well it pays off at domestic vs. imports World Cup Finals!

  1. I have just started following your channel. Your car/setup is amazing!

    6.615sec at 216.41mph was INCREDIBLE!

"1st gen SBC, single turbo, smallish cubic inches, stick shifted h-pattern shifter" giving the big guys a run for it.

By far the best showing at the track that day!

  2. I've always was a fan of Grubb Worm, but the race against Cleetus was telling. Mullet got the jump but our guy ran around him and stretched him by 10 mph with a much smaller engine and one less turbo!

  3. Seen you couple times from watching Cleetus didn't realize yall had a channel but glad I found it.. shout out to your team got that car flying much respect

  4. 3 manual gear shifts in 6 seconds, that's business… but also precision driving. Amazing work mate.
Not sure people realize how much power an auto trans & converter soaks up.
If your clutch will allow you to shift your manual quick & the whole setup can withstand your power/traction you are bound to go faster/quicker as manual.
But they sure can be a handful to drive well, 10 outa 10 there mate.
    Spectacular sounds making a pass.
cheers from Sunny Queensland Australia. Now I'll go sub…

  5. I love to watch this car run. As fast as you’re going in a small block stick car is incredible. All the best with the new set up. Hope to see it run in person at some point.

  6. Congrats on building a complete combo that runs so well, it sure doesn't sound like small cubic inches, it sounds like a VERY evil small block, actually a big block, and to do that through a turbine wheel and sound like is that is amazing!! Good Luck at WC!!!

  7. New sub here after watching you guys take on Cleet. Seeing your monster go up against Leroy will be something else- I'd PPV to see that. Best of luck at World Cup!

  8. I’m always amazed at how quickly people dismiss Gen I &II’s, when I fact it is the most winningest engine in history! Almost reminds me of EV idiots looking down there nose at others, believing their superior to everyone else!

  9. So is it still a reverse cool headed motor or is it now a gen 1 sbc longblock running a 24x? I’ve always wanted by an aftermarket block and do a gen 1 setup with the 24x as parts are readily more available, but have never actually seen it done, if that’s what this is you just made my year, wife my hate you now but hell I’ll be happy as all hell if that’s what this is..

  10. They were mounting headers in a similar manner on F5000s, Sprintcars and other cars using 1.7/8 headers in the early 70s. Generally now everyone uses 1 3/4. Drag racing needs are foreign to most other branches of motorsport.
Though at least you are using a real Chev unlike those odd Chevs with only 4 bolts per hole cylinder heads
