This past weekend Vicki and so made a trip to the Detroit Autorama to see a very special 1955 Chevrolet Belair that was on display for the first time ever.
The car is a brand new build, built as a tribute to the 50 millionth car produced by General Motors.
The real 50 Millionth car was sold by GM many years ago and was lost in a garage fire in 1996.
However, thanks to a group of Avid Enthusiasts, a completely brand new 55 Chevy was built as a tribute to the real car that was gone forever.
But what nobody knew until this group of guys began trying to replicate the original, was that there wasn’t just ONE 24k Gold Plated 55 Chevy. THERE WERE 3! And all of them LOST with hardly any official documentation!
How could this happen to the most iconic and most highly celebrated brand new car in the history of The United States?
You’d be surprised…. I know I was.

We fans are a luv'n the Hoskinson's Estate and esteemed grounds of HotRod Performance. The drone footage is wonderful!!
@8:25,, re "the box",, Yep,, once a feller hit's 50 that damn "box" has to be sent in just about every 3 years. At least that's what my insurance – "AARP United Healthcare" – requires. Every once in awhile ya gotta fast for 12 hrs, flush yer innards – COMPLETELY!, go in TO get that 'camera thang' shoved up 'THERE' for tha colon screen. We HATE IT BUT it's just another thing we elders gotta deal with that help keep us on Mother Earth much, much longer than GOD intended we inhabit this planet.
Watching the HUGE CELEBRATION welcoming that 50 millionth 1955 Chevrolet to Detroit and the fans of this wonderful World of our Automobile's reminded me of a time when America was her most AMAZING. I,, being born in 1947 vividly remember that day (being an Oregonian we couldn't afford a trip to Detroit to join the festivities) AND I even more vividly remember seeing the first 1963 Corvette Sting Ray to arrive at Sallee Chevrolet, the dealership in our town. Anyway,, back to my point,, since those times people were FULL of PRIDE to be American we have seen that PRIDE decline and it is sooo very sad for me and many millions of other elder Americans. WHY has this happened? Well,, there are a number of reasons BUT in this old mans opinion I believe it has everything to do with the MEDIA. The media have busted their hump to degragate the pride our ForeFathers and Mothers felt, fought and died for. To GOD we Pray that one day Americans will WAKE UP, GET RID of all who work to take away the pride we Patriots feel and put in office those who will work to restore the GREATNESS AMERICA DESERVES. Thank you Bill,, we know YOU, the entire Hoskinson family and most likely all who are fans of the family of SRC are PATRIOTS. GOD BLESS, GOD PROTECT, and GOD ensure you're and our voices are heard.

What a wonderful time we live in. You can literally build a whole car out of a couple of catalogs. Thank you Bill, for taking us along to the Detroit Autorama.
excellent
Man one of the best videos to date Bill WOW
When is Billy going to show his Camaro
I'm not sure what the deal is with law enforcement these days, but if the tires on my 69 R/T Charger even looked like they stuck out past the wheelwells, I'd get pulled over, but nowadays you have trucks like what I guess is Tanner's with tires sticking out what looks like a foot, and no one says shit, wtf is up with that? And if that's not bad enough, how the hell did Tyler score such a sweet looking gf? There's no justice in this world these days.
Thank you Bill. So cool to see the 55 and hear the story.
Great video!! the "55" story was great learned a few things.
Fantastic job on this video Bill. Thanks for letting us all come along for the ride!
Mark sitting there contemplating his life choices was priceless.
