Shawn you don't have to remove the axle to do those airbags just need a 20 tom jack and a 1 inch gun and a jack stand
For those air bags there should be 2 studs on the bottom, 1 u cut but leave the thickness of the lower bag bracket and the other 1 gets the nut so they don’t kik out like they did.

Not sure what was up with that reg, but as a flied service guy I have lost a knob or two. Most regs the tread is pretty standard bolt. Gently torque a jam nut against the reg to hold in place maybe even a wheel spacer if your feeling fancy and you are good to go.

U NEED a small inverter stick welder for just this kind of road fix. I have one I run off my generator & it will run off any 120 or 240 volt supplies! So if u can only get power from a house or gas station where they will let u plug in a 120volt extension cord u can weld without even a generator. Under $200 at Amazon for a 160 DC Amp. Weight 25 LBS.
