Brand new Ford F150 EcoBoost Vs. Ford F150 PowerBoost.
Let’s do this!
HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone!
Hope everybody is keeping well and that you all have a fantastic 2023!
We wanted to run this race ever since we got our hands on the 2021 PowerBoost last year – mainly because, in 2021 Ford increased the engine output of the 3.5L EcoBoost engines from 375Hp and 470Tq to 400Hp and 500Tq.
So we didn’t want to get an older EcoBoost out there because we knew the PowerBoost would beat it pretty easily. And thankfully, we were blessed to be able to find a brand new 2022 F-150 EcoBoost with the 3.5L Engine so we set up a race as soon as we could!
As far as power to weight goes, the PowerBoost is heavier but makes more Hp and Tq, and the EcoBoost is lighter but makes less power. So the Power to weight ratios end up being very similar on paper.
As usual with our races though, on paper really doesn’t mean much when the rubber meets the road. Safe to say we were both surprised at how much the PowerBoost won by, as we thought it would be a much closer race than it was.
Either way though, we had a blast filming the race and the whole idea of the Ordinary Drag Racing series is to find out how these types of vehicles actually perform out on the 1/4 mile.
Thanks so much for watching and God Bless!

Great videos! And I can't remember, does Ford still offer a V8 F-150, or are those people's only options?
Needs to have same gear ratio, and tires. If so, it would’ve been closer.
What’s your elevation by the way? I get 13.9 seconds 1/4 mile in a 2022 5.0
Is the black one leveled with bigger tires , what were tire sizes ?
