16:52 my question is why do you have to pay more for that for an EV? All gas stations have that (majority at least) and you don’t pay more vs gas station that doesn’t. What will it take for major oil companies to install competitively priced chargers at their 1000s of stations?
It's crazy that despite being more conservative and having fewer votes overall versus the last U.K. general election, the Labour Party was still able to take back Parliament.
14:19 The GM Energy sites are being built out pretty quick, so there literally are dozens and dozens of them in some areas. In fact, an EV owner recently shared that they had to make a trip solely using the Pilot-Flying J locations because all the Electrify America sites along the route had been vandalized, cables cut, etc.
44:53 You don't say. Sandy might have been misleading his viewers by pushing Tesla and claiming they were so far ahead that no one else could catch up? 45:46 Nebula1701 seems to be referring to Customer Satisfaction Programs where they replaced specific drive units on the GMC HUMMER EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV that had skipped their final QC check. The drive motors were being replaced out of an abundance of caution and not due to any known failures or for the purposes of research. It was simply that they wanted to ensure that all customer drive motors had undergone their final inspection. The battery replacements were due to an actual recall due to a third-party manufacturing defect.
Is it legacy vehicle manufacturers' companies experience at dealership for Ford only ICE experience? Should that include all iconic models? Does in include that experience the most important icon of all Ford Model T? No wonder Ford was one of the responsible companies which killed the first EV brands 100 years ago.
Got news for you, car companies have done that for years, Nissan has swapped many engines that seemingly had no problems for the owner, personal experience.
58:33 public company earnings expectations: When I worked at Mega Tech Corp (350,000) employees, the office was “open office” so no executives had private offices. They would have pods though where there closest support folks were in desks adjacent them. My desk was 6” from the Exec VP of Sales across the divider, so if we both stood up, we were looking right at each other and arm’s length away. I wore headphones to keep their loud conversations from disrupting my software engineering activities, but it was impossible not to hear. The VP would pace around the pod talking loudly on his headset to whoever around the globe. The calculations of what to release in terms of earnings/revenue estimates and how those estimates would be received consumed a ton of time each quarter with the CFO, CEO, CIO dropping by to discuss and discussing on the phone. So you’re right Martyn, there is no way to understand it without knowing at least some of the inside game.
Road trips: I guess it depends on the amenities offered to justify the inflated prices. A location without a wait, clean restrooms, food and coffee would be convenient. But at the end, I have legs and can walk across the street for coffee and a restroom if I'm saving 50% on my energy costs.
GM only did forensic teardowns of Hummer and Lyriq batteries that were warranty replacements. They didn’t proactively low-key confiscate batteries to avoid a recall.
My DC fast charging is the same as Martyn’s. When with family, I try to disguise the charge time by focusing on amenities at the station. I try to make it a mini event. But, I do so little DC fast charging, every time is event for me. Home charging is so economical that I never think about charging cost.
Funny you should mention Ariya and Volt, Martyn. My co worker has an Ariya and loves it. Before the Nissan he had a Volt. Loved that too.
My wife and I have had and loved our 2021 ID.4 since it was brand new. My only guess as to why sales are down is because A. It's due for a visual refresh. B. All the negative publicity of the first examples still scaring people. C. More compelling options. When we got our ID.4 its only real competition was the more expensive Mach-E.
My Nissan Ariya is awesome.

Thanks!
Proactive action for possible prepreventitve maintenance.
Your spinning negativity about something nobody knows anything about, please guys, enough until there is evidence.

They are probably just checking how the motors are holding up to high mileage. They can only do that by swapping it out and tearing it down
Vivian in wheel motors.
Rivian
Kyle has too many irons in the fire. He's gonna burn out if he doesn't plan ahead.

1:01:21 F150 won’t compete with ICE F150 until it sells for less than ICE and with battery swapping for five minute refueling.
1:18:41 We have 23 ID4 Pro S AWD. We love it. It’s a great car.
Way to go Tom!
23:44 YES!!!
Interesting how different political trends are in UK and France and Italy
