  1. Really enjoy your videos. Great explanation of different methods to set hydraulic valves. I always use your preferred method of marking the balancer every 90 degrees and following the firing order starting on top dead centre on the compression stroke. For me it’s less complicated and less chance of errors. I was wondering if this method can be used on a cold engine that has already been broken in. For example, if I wanted to change rocker arms or valve springs. I have heard in the past that the lifters would pump up and give a false reading when setting valve lash. What’s your opinion on this. Thank you from N.B.

  2. gonna fire an angle plug head motor for the first time soon.QUESTION using a beam type torque wrench to turn the crank WHAT would the torque number be? Keep in mind this is a fresh never fired engine thank you in advance

  3. Those 292 heads are better than ya think. Outflow Vortec heads with ease. Many 600hp SBC been built using ported 292s. I have a pair that flow around 290cfm. 215 on the exhaust. Going on a 327 that's gonna make near 600hp NA and turn 8500+rpm. Mine were the CRANE Fireball versions, except they've been taken to the next level. Been milled alot. Beautiful port job. Cast in 1975. Was on a Modified Production class car back in the late 70s. They flow more than a pair of Brodix 200cc heads I have. I'm going with a .650/640 lift, 278/284@.050 solid roller with mine. Over 13-1 compression. BME Aluminum rods etc. Those heads were meant to run. NASCAR engines made 575-600hp with them in the late 70s.

  4. I have expimemented with hydraulic lifters for along time. Sometimes I adjust running using a vaccum guage to get the smoothest idle. It was between 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Only one 350 i have seen was a l stock engine took a little less
