For the most part I believe most of us drag racing enthusiasts have a general idea how the process works at the race track. How to do a burn out, how to stage the car and how to go down the track. For me however, that was never the nerve racking part as I got started… it was the tech line. Even though I studied the NHRA rule book, I was so nervous that a tech official would see a flaw in my build that wouldn’t allow me to go down the race track.
I decided to make this video for those just getting into drag racing or for those looking to take their fresh build to the drag strip soon. This video will go over the basics of safety features/parts your car will need to have depending on what your estimated ET is. Using my 1971 Chevy Nova with a blown small block Chevy I give examples of exactly what parts I’m referring too.
Hopefully this video eases any worries you have about taking your vehicle to the drag strip and you can come prepared to tackle any tech line!
