Them- “You should have just built a 6.0 LS”
Me- “Uh, how about nooooo!”
I couldn’t believe how much power this stock bottom end 400 SBC made at such an incredibly LOW RPM! This is a TORQUE MONSTER!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Vicki and I are thankful for y’all and all the support!
What's the difference in cutting and grinding on your frame and doing it to your firewall? I get that you want to keep thecar as original as possible, but after Mr.Hoskinson has open heart surgery that manual clutch is probably going to be to much for him to operate. I only say this because of the experience I had with my grandfather after his open heart surgery,I had to change his 72 Chevy to an automatic because he wasn't able to work the clutch(a hydraulic clutch wasn't available,it was many years ago).Best of luck on your Dad's surgery ,my grandfather's was 25 years ago and he's still going strong at 87yrs old today!!!
Yeah, when they say it is bolt on you can bet it won’t bolt on.
Bill The deuce doubler
If u can what cams in it
So it’s not 360hp it’s 400hp? And it’s not 440ftlbs? It’s 540? Wow so the final numbers is 400hp and 540 FTlbs? Wow great motor!
Malwood USA might have an answer for your clutch issue with a clutch pedal that has a built in slave that fits under the dash without hacking anything. Check them out.
Bill, I had a 422ci SBC, back in the 90's, stuffed into my '91 Camaro. It was EFI'ed and I chose to use an Accel Super Ram intake. On a chassis dyno, it made 421hp and 503 ft.lb.….at the tire! I would tell folks it made 500 hoss'power. The car was a stick (w/Tremec's TKO 5-spd) and I ended up switching to a McCleod Street Twin clutch because all them horsehooves beat my first Centerforce clutch like it owed it money.
I have a 03 2500 with a 6.0 makes 560lbs at 4k has stock heads i ported and a cam stock exahust runs really good so im sure that 400 will do great in the 64.
LMFAO if you want to see how to correctly use a dyno….watch nicks garage on you tube…so many things bob is down incorrectly. This guy has no business doing dyno pulls. Bob has no clue….that's sad
Those are impressive numbers to be sure, but running it with the ram horn manifolds you said it would have in the vehicle would have made for real application numbers.
Where do I go to look at your merchandise?
Noticed that you guys have used a speed masters race block in one of Billy's earlier s10 motors. I was wondering if this is a block you continue using or it just isn't good enough ? I ask because I wonder would it hold up to drag racing? price is much less
Very rarely does anyone make such good torque. Could you share what the 0.50 duration is? Love both of your shows.
Enjoyed video, nice shop,small-town USA at its best.
Nice work on the400s
love the old school dyno. if its not broken dont fix it. and Bob is really good at what he does
Great video ya'll!! Happy Thanksgiving to ya'll!! That 400 sounds really good Makin some good power. I love the 55 uncle bucko did a fine job gettin all that stuff done on it he is definitely a wizard on fixin stuff. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun enjoy ya'lls family and vehicles
Sounds healthy! Should make a nice street engine!
Your combo is good that motor is going to perform like a big block which some would say it a small big block the piston is bigger than a 396 big block once again good combination
Fight the seatbelt ticket. Seatbelts weren’t mandatory until 1968.
