Day 2 at the #nonamenationals Fell a little short, but was a good time!!

After fighting with carb issues and trying different things we came a little short on getting into the sevens. It didn’t stop us from trying. Met a lot of people and was a great time over all. You win some you lose some. Special Thanks to Dallas and John for putting together this event. @JustMoparJoe @Scotts Speed Shop @BareRose Garage @Poor Boys Garage
@Bad Tree Productions
@Unity MotorSports Garage and everyone else
I can’t remember at the moment due to the lack of sleep . #dragracing #mopar #testandtune #budgetbuild #bracketracing

  1. if you could cut those lights dont deep stage it and you can about hammer it as the last yellow lights up but regardless you did good enough and were proud of you

  2. Al you did great, like I've said before getting slaghammer in the mid to high 7's would be an amazing feat for what it is.The idiots saying 6's were possible are insane.Like I've said before I've been running mid 6's in the 1/8th mile in my Vega since the late 1980's and it ain't no easy feat.

  3. Nice seeing & chatting with you, Al ! Great to see Slaghammer up close and making those runs down the strip! I had a blast of meeting everyone and seeing their cars. It amounted into a helluva fun time!

  4. Well, you've got a 12.90 car in the 1/4 which is better than I thought it would do. From what I see, car leaves real soft and needs a lot more converter because it just isn't making much torque. Also, throw those carbs back at Tony and put some 650dp's on it.

  5. Low 8's in the 8th is nothing to be ashamed of, that's deep into the 12s in a 1/4 mile. Not many low buck cars can do that.

Also, that was a good looking Duster in the first run!

  6. It will come together, new set up and all takes time to work it out.. I just watch U.T.'s latest vid and I think you guy will get it, knowing what the issue is.. 4:30 gears, it should leave hard @4500.. And it will..

  7. JUST WATCHED UT NEWEST VIDEO ,WAS NOT HAPPY.
I THINK YOU DID AN AWESOME JOB ,WITH THE KNOWLEDGE YOU HAD WITH THE IGNITION/ENGINE.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES
YOU PUT YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO THE BUILD OF THAT GASSER.
(I KNOW HE SAID IT WAS HIS FAULT ,HOWEVER WATCH IT AND THE OIL THING IS WHAT GOT TO ME)
THE IGNITION PROBLEM.WELL IF HE WAS TO CREW CHIEF /WRENCH ON IT EVERY DAY AFTER EACH RUN.AS 4 EYES ARE BETTER THAN 2,
2 HEADS THAT INTIMATELY KNOW THE MECHANICAL WORKINGS OF THE ENGINE IS BETTER THAN 1 THAT HAS A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE ,BUT NOT EVERYTHING ABOUT IT,EVIDENTLY

  8. You summed it up very well. You had fun,the car didn't break, and you met some great folks. Folks who are not into racing cannot understand the comraderie of the sport. Thanks for the chance to participate vicariously.

  9. Al , that event was a blast! For me as a first time racer, it was great to meet fellow racers like you and see all the awesome racecars. The SlagHammer is a beast! Thanks for the shout out! See you at the track next time!

  10. Know the whole story ! Instead of half the Story!! No one is to blame!!, since your comments are turned off for the titled video, I understand your frustration, but throwing out F-bombs is a little much. I'm sure young kids watch your videos with their fathers, just not cool Al

  11. I think slag hammer got washed out do to no vacuum advance! when you are at part throttle you have lower pressure in the cylinder and a slower burn, add to that a big cam and you have a mixture that is vary diluted. to make up for it you open the throttle more than you need and that dumps more gas in! on the street you NEED vacuum advance! David Vizard and Andy have talked about vacuum advance! all so if I remember it had no pan evacuator or pcv. having a cdi box would help as it will burn the mixture better keeping fuel wash to a minimum. I like points to but use them to trigger a ignition box! take care !

  12. Hope you’re doing okay Al. You’re just the latest in a long line of victims. We all knew this wouldn’t last. It never does.
